[edit] Club colours
I've been looking for an explanation as to why we use those silly diagonal icons for the teams colours but have been unable to find one. In my view, the Australian Football League uses much better icons for its team colours and I would suggest the rugby league teams adopt something similar. Below are my suggestions. I'd be interested to hear anyone else's views.

- The AFL pictures are blatantly breaching copyright in most instances. For instance, the Carlton design is basically a copy of the logo. The only reason why I diagree with your proposal is because your designs are based upon current jersey designs. The current colour pictures used are universal for the entire history of each of club (with one or two exceptions). Also, when I created the current colour designs my main intention was to have consistency between clubs. I don't think the system can work if we do it any differently. --mdmanser 02:34, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
- I agree with your copyright point, particularly referring to Port Adelaide, etc but it isn't most instances. There is no way that the icons for clubs with stripes, hoops or sashes have copyright issues and they are the majority. What I like about them is they are instantly recognisable as relating to the clubs. The diagonal RL icons are less obvious. In some case such as the Cowboys, the dominant colour on the jersey is barely noticeable on the icon because lesser colours are given greater prominence. I also respect your point about consistency through history, but feel it has been done in an inconsistent way, choosing the original Penrith colours but the most recent Warriors colours. My feeling is, if colours change over time, the most recent colours are appropriate. Finally, I'm not planning to change the colours on the main RL pages without consensus from other contributors but I have used my style jerseys on the Illawarra Rugby League page and may do likewise on other CRL pages when I get around to it. - I agree, current colours are retarded, should be updated, and visibily connected to current NRL jersey Joelclintonfan 13:20, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
Is there a way to change them? most are either a) outdated, b) wrong shade, c) wrong proportion or d) (as is the case of Wests Tigers) all of the above. I'd do my own, but haven't a clue as to how. Please somebody fix it, it looks crap. Weststigersbob 11:03, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

- The colours look fine to me, the only thing I'd change was to design the template so that the middle colour/stripe is half the size it is now. I think that the centre third on the 3 stripes template is too big and when the middle colour is white it almost always takes the attention away from the other two colours, which in most cases are actually the main colours. Parra-Power: I'm just curious on how you manage to make such accurate Club Colours. I tried it using a special software but they always turn out hoorible but to the point about the Colours, I like them & they are a change from the Dull originals. —Preceding signed but undated comment was added at 15:54, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
