[edit] A suggestion and a comment

Hi, I just joined up here and wanted to offer a suggestion. Template:Monster-stub seems..well, the name seems a little odd to me. Do any of you think that perhaps changing it to a cryptid stub might be more appropriate? Also, I came across your Paranormal accounts page, and it's not really very appropriate for an encyclopedia, even as a subpage of a wikiproject. You might want to consider moving the information there to Parawiki, and leaving a soft redirect to it in its place. --InShaneee 21:29, 21 April 2006 (UTC)

You might be right on that. I was thinking Cryptozoology-stub (or crp-stub for short). I wasn't aware of that wiki. Sounds interesting. ---J.Smith 21:47, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
Either one sounds good. Yeah, Parawiki is part of Wikia, a sister project to Wikipedia whereupon smaller, more focused wikis can be created with standards that are far more open than those of Wikipedia. For example, where the material in the subpage in question is generally frowned upon here, at Parawiki it would most likely be welcomed with open arms. :) --InShaneee 22:18, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
sorry for responding snidely. ---J.Smith 00:05, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
No worries, I didn't think you came off like that at all. :) Anyway, it should be decided before too long what you guys want done with that subpage. --InShaneee 01:41, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
I actualy put that in the wrong spot. lol ---J.Smith 02:33, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
Some of the testimonials may lead to physical evidence, such as burn marks in UFO cases, foot prints in the case of Bigfoot, EVP and other physical evidence in case of a ghost, demon, angel encounter. Martial Law 06:02, 22 April 2006 (UTC) :)

While that may be true, please see Wikipedia:Verifiability. I don't believe that anything in there will be able to pass that standard, unfortunatly. --InShaneee 14:10, 22 April 2006 (UTC)

I think InShanee is absolutly right. It would be sort of cool if wikipedia was a bit flexable in letting that kind of thing hang out. I could see some admin/user speedying it without any word. Would it be ok in Martial's user space? ---J.Smith 06:57, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
Perfectly. Any if it would be cluttering his main userpage, he could always create a subpage (ie, userpage/subpage) for it. :) --InShaneee 16:14, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
ML, do you know how to move a page into your user space?
(If not, it should be fairly well explained in the 'move' tab at the top) --InShaneee 19:54, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
Thanks but if you noticed this project just merged with another group and we are still fixing these leftover templates. Mahogany-wanna chat?
I'd be willing to take care of it for you, if it'd be easier, you'd just need to tell me the location where you'd like it. Sorry to be so insistent, this is just one of those "the sooner, the better" situations. --InShaneee 15:57, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
Well just have the location something like Wikiproject Paranormal. Something else to work on we have had several requests for UFO and Angel related stubs Mahogany-wanna chat?
Just move it to User:Martial Law/whatever and if it's a problem we can fix it then. ---J.Smith 16:32, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
You'll realize to move a page you don't cut, copy and paste there is a button at the top of history on a page that says move you click on it and you can change the name without losing valuable info. Plus use subpages on this page it's fine and dandy that ML said we could but it would be much easier stored on this page!! Mahogany-wanna chat?(Don't take my comment as an insult to your intelligence I just thought you'll should know being I learned the hard way)
I'm well aware of how to move a page, but it really can't stay as a subpage here, unfortunatly. I'll wait another day (in case anyone has anything else to say on the matter), then I'll go ahead and move it. --InShaneee 16:49, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
I'm lost so are you moving templates? Mahogany-wanna chat?(like I said I'm not trying to say you're stupid I was just throwing that out so everyone would know)

No, sorry, this was two different discussion. I'm just going to be moving Wikipedia:Wikiproject Paranormal/Paranormal Stories. --InShaneee 17:34, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

I think we confused Mahogany :) ---J.Smith 18:20, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
Ah well. I probably should have put the two seperate concerns in two seperate threads. However, about the template...does anyone else like the idea of a Cryptozoology template instead of a Monster template? --InShaneee 18:41, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
Depends on what it is going to be used for - if for bigfoot, loch ness and similar go ahead. But if werevolves, vampire et al are going to be included, it lends some sort of scientific credence to what is more properly called mythology. So if we are going to seperate along such boundaries, go ahead; else, stick to monster (which is in the English language used rather arbitrarily for both mythological beasts, dangerous/evil entities and (in the certain types of journalism at least) for unexplained, hypothetical animals. Lundse 18:48, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
That thought did occur to me, but since we do also have a Mythology template, I figured we'd still be covered. --InShaneee 18:56, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
No longer confused, I like the idea of a Cryptozoology template being it is much more professional Mahogany-wanna chat?
Alright, I went ahead and moved the paranormal accounts page to User:Martial Law/Paranormal accounts. Now, anyone want to take a crack at that template? :) --InShaneee 19:03, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
I've found a cryptozoology template but don't want to work on these new templates maybe tommorow Mahogany-wanna chat?

[edit] Need

Need templates for UFO and Alien (extraterrestrial) w/ pixes. Martial Law 06:10, 22 April 2006 (UTC) :)

Also need some for angel as well. People are reporting encounters with angels as well.Martial Law 06:17, 22 April 2006 (UTC) :)
What kind of template? A stub template? Or a "This user has seen ____" or what? Let me know and I can pop one out. ---J.Smith 06:58, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
Need one with a Grey alien for alien related articles, such as Alien implants, one, a UFO template, with a flying saucer, for UFO related articles, such as the Flying triangle article,
So you mean a navigation toolbar? ---J.Smith 16:23, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

need one with a pix of a angel for angel related articles, such as the Angel article itself. Martial Law 04:35, 24 April 2006 (UTC) :)

We need lots of things right now we're working off merged templates that need to be fixed for many reasons. So that should be a major thing being worked on Mahogany-wanna chat?

I realy wanna help out here... but I have no idea what it is you want to have made. ---J.S (t|c) 16:39, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

A pix of a Grey alien for alien articles, a pix of a flying saucer for UFO articles, a pix of a XM-25 for paranormal articles in which weapons were used, like the UFO Incident at Hopkinsville,TN., a pix of a Demon for demon related articles, a pix of a angel for angel related articles. these are for the appropriate templates. Martial Law 06:40, 2 May 2006 (UTC) :)

So you realy just want images then? I can't realy help you there chief. ---J.S (t|c) 07:07, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

I'll look for some pix Mahogany

[edit] Numerous stub templates

I notice that this wikiproject has created quite a few stub templates, several of which are lacking categories (and as far as I know, none of which have been proposed. Wouldn't it perhaps be a better idea to have a single {{paranormal-stub}} template, which by definition would have the right scope for your project, and avoid excessive fragmentation? Fine-grained categorisation you can still do via the "real" category system. Alai 00:55, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

Not a bad idea, I support it. If this cat ever got too large, we could always start breaking off there. --InShaneee 01:16, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
I have no problem there, we have so much crap from that old Wikiproject Supernatural/whatever that needs to be deleted Mahogany
