[edit] NC wikiproject
How many of you guys agree that NC is a bureaucratic nightmare? I looked at Charlotte then I looked at the metro area then my head started to rotate in confusion. I vuleenter my services and forgive my spelling. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mazman34340 (talk • contribs) 02:17, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] North Carolina Peer Review
Should we start a Peer Review for all topics North Carolina? WikiProject Virginia has a Peer review section to help increase the amount of GA and FA in their WikiProject. I think this is a good ideas, any comments - PGPirate
[edit] Portal?
Have you guys ever considered creating a North Carolina portal, other states have portals such as Portal:Florida and Portal:Vermont. I'd be willing to help if you guys like the idea. --Mr.crabby (Talk) 19:54, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- I created an example of what I think it should look like, click here to see. Tell me what you guys think. --Mr.crabby (Talk) 21:45, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] House cleaning
I'm cleaning up the project page, as I've noticed somethings that have been there over year and are not relevant anymore. And I want to emphasize getting articles to Good Article Canidate and eventually Feature Article status. I'm going to try and get more active in the project again. GWatson • TALK 17:26, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Peer Review
I recently nominated the article on the Kinston Indians for GA status and it passed. Anyone familiar with FA guidelines is welcome to give me suggestions for getting this to FA status. Kinston eagle 03:50, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
- Just checked the article, it looks great! I don't know what needs to be done to make it a FA, but I'll be willing to help with whatever you need. --Mr.crabby (Talk) 16:33, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Quality and Importance
I have been spending a good deal of time trying to get the quality and importance factors for NC articles to actually split up into subcategories. If anyone can help that would be great as being able to know what is labled as what is very helpful. Acidskater 07:31, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
- I'll try to help, I'm glad someone finally added a rating scale to this WikiProject, I've wanted that for a while. --Mr.crabby (Talk) 11:36, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Tar Heel
I think the Tar Heel article is very close to being a good article. If this project is willing to help out, I believe we could get it there. Remember 17:28, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- Sure, I'll help (even thugh I'm a Duke fan). What else needs to be done to the article? --Mr.crabby (Talk) 18:19, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Deletion sorting page
I see that you have a section on your main page for pending deletions. Would you consider replacing individual entries there with a link to Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/North Carolina? --User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 01:25, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Hamlet chicken processing plant fire
Some time back, there was a request that images of the memorials erected in the aftermath of the disaster be added to this article. After much trawling the internet, I was forced to give up. It only recently occured to me that if I put a notice up here, I might be able to track down someone near the scene who could go out and create them themselves! (keeps copyright simple, too!) Is there anyone availible in the area? Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 20:49, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Assessment Team
Hello Everyone, I was wondering if we can start a WPNC Assessment team to work our way through the EXTENSIVE backlog of unassessed/unknown importance articles. We currently sit at approximately 3,200 articles that are unassessed or of unknown importance and we really need to work on this. I am going to add this to the "To Do" list and recommend that we work in a bit different method. My recommendation is to work on a random topic or perhaps letter within the category. My first recommendation is all locations within NC be assessed. If anyone disagrees or has a different suggestion, please let me know! Rob110178 18:13, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Need a North Carolina photograph
Hi! We're working on the Blackwater USA article, whose headquarters is located at 850 Puddin Ridge Road, Moynock, North Carolina. Would it be possible for anyone to get (or post if you have it) a photograph of the entrance to their offices/facilities for the article? • Lawrence Cohen 21:39, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
- Just tagging this again, in case anyone has access to such a photo, or is in the vicinity of Moyock and would be willing to take such a photo for us. Thanks! • Lawrence Cohen 22:42, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Portal:North Carolina is launched!
I updated Portal:North Carolina, so now its an up and running portal. If anyone is interested in helping out please leave a message at the Portal:NC talk page or my talk page. Thanks --Mr.crabby (Talk) 23:48, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Allen Joines
Just as a head's up, Allen Joines, the current mayor of Winston-Salem, is listed as an intensive care article. It could really use some help if someone can find the time. I just added a picture, but I won't be able to get to it until at least the summer. Rufous-crowned Sparrow (talk) 01:18, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Project North Carolina: Articles of unclear notability
Hello,
there are currently 10 articles in the scope of this project which are tagged with notability concerns. I have listed them here. (Note: this listing is based on a database snapshot of 12 March 2008 and may be slightly outdated.)
I would encourage members of this project to have a look at these articles, and see whether independent sources can be added, whether the articles can be merged into an article of larger scope, or possibly be deleted. Any help in cleaning up this backlog is appreciated. For further information, see Wikipedia:WikiProject Notability.
If you have any questions, please leave a message on the Notability project page or on my personal talk page. (I'm not watching this page however.) Thanks! --B. Wolterding (talk) 16:55, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

Any thoughts on starting a newsletter for this project? - DiligentTerrier (and friends) 19:53, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

- OK, I have a bot which can deliver it. I could set up a newsroom project, but I would like to have someone to write for the newsletter. I have also found that newsletters do help to spark interest in projects, and hopefully this will do that, if I can get some help. - DiligentTerrier (and friends) 18:12, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

- My laptop was stolen yesterday (see my talk page for details), so I'm not able to edit as much right now. [edit] Duke University FAR
Duke University has been nominated for a featured article review. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. Please leave your comments and help us to return the article to featured quality. If concerns are not addressed during the review period, articles are moved onto the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Remove" the article from featured status. [edit] Cook Out (restaurant)
I recently listed Cook Out (restaurant) for deletion only to get a flood of "keep"s from users asserting its notability without doing much in the way of providing sources. Although I did find one source, I think that the article would benefit from some TLC from North Carolinians. Anyone up for the job? Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshells•Otter chirps) 23:30, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
- The problem I see is that there really isn't any sources per se for Cookout. The only things on the internet are the occasional news article about the restaurant. Past that, there is nothing. I've seen the corporate office before, but that was just in passing. I must admit, it is hard to grab sources for a restaurant that is not only local, but does not even have its own website (to which I am very surprised). I would have assumed that once it started quickly expanding, a website would have been created; apparently that is the last on their priority list. That being said, I agree that the article needs a nice cleanup; however, it is a difficult if not near impossible task to add to an encyclopedia built on sources when there are few, if at all, any. [edit] The Carolinas
There is a discussion going on about the The Carolinas article that could use some perspective from participants in this project.--Rtphokie (talk) 01:02, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
