[edit] Guidelines for projects

The project might get more members if it is known to exist. I am adding it to the WikiProject geographical directory, so with any luck more people will see it. However, you might try to format the page in such a way as to more clearly state the project's specific objectives. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Guide might help you there as well. Best of luck in this endeavor. Badbilltucker 19:56, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Project directory

Hello. The WikiProject Council has recently updated the Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Directory. This new directory includes a variety of categories and subcategories which will, with luck, potentially draw new members to the projects who are interested in those specific subjects. Please review the directory and make any changes to the entries for your project that you see fit. There is also a directory of portals, at User:B2T2/Portal, listing all the existing portals. Feel free to add any of them to the portals or comments section of your entries in the directory. The three columns regarding assessment, peer review, and collaboration are included in the directory for both the use of the projects themselves and for that of others. Having such departments will allow a project to more quickly and easily identify its most important articles and its articles in greatest need of improvement. If you have not already done so, please consider whether your project would benefit from having departments which deal in these matters. It is my hope that all the changes to the directory can be finished by the first of next month. Please feel free to make any changes you see fit to the entries for your project before then. If you should have any questions regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you. B2T2 15:06, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia Day Awards

Hello, all. It was initially my hope to try to have this done as part of Esperanza's proposal for an appreciation week to end on Wikipedia Day, January 15. However, several people have once again proposed the entirety of Esperanza for deletion, so that might not work. It was the intention of the Appreciation Week proposal to set aside a given time when the various individuals who have made significant, valuable contributions to the encyclopedia would be recognized and honored. I believe that, with some effort, this could still be done. My proposal is to, with luck, try to organize the various WikiProjects and other entities of wikipedia to take part in a larger celebrartion of its contributors to take place in January, probably beginning January 15, 2007. I have created yet another new subpage for myself (a weakness of mine, I'm afraid) at User talk:Badbilltucker/Appreciation Week where I would greatly appreciate any indications from the members of this project as to whether and how they might be willing and/or able to assist in recognizing the contributions of our editors. Thank you for your attention. Badbilltucker 20:32, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

The above named article is currently a candidate for speedy deletion. If any member of this project can add information which can verify its importance or significance please do so at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Yomari (2nd nomination). Badbilltucker 17:56, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Bilateral relations discussion

I would like to invite you all to participate in a discussion at this thread regarding bilateral relations between two countries. All articles related to foreign relations between countries are now under the scope of WikiProject Foreign relations, a newly created project. We hope that the discussion will result in a more clean and organized way of explaining such relationships. Thank you. Ed ¿Cómo estás? 18:09, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

The South Asian WikiProjects have been tremendously productive, which I congratulate you for, and I just wanted to let you know that we're very close to meeting the criteria for a Featured topic covering the countries of the region. Please see Wikipedia talk:Featured topics#Great potential for South Asian countries featured topic. Thanks.--Pharos 03:57, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Dhangadhi or Dhangadi?

I have just redirected the Dhangadi page to the Dhangadhi article, but I am not entirely sure which is the better English version. Dhangadhi seems to be more usually used, but if someone wants to take a look...? FlowerpotmaN·(t) 22:32, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Nepal at FAR

Nepal has been nominated for a featured article review. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. Please leave your comments and help us to return the article to featured quality. If concerns are not addressed during the review period, articles are moved onto the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Remove" the article from featured status. The instructions for the review process are here. Reviewers' concerns are here. --Victor12 00:13, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Expert review: Multidisciplinary Academic PerspectiveS

For details, see the article's talk page. If you can spare some time, please add your comments there. Thanks! --B. Wolterding 14:22, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Matrikas

I have worked on this article a lot, but was unable to gather info about the Matrikas, as they are viewed in Nepal. Can please anybody write about the Matrikas goddesses' role in Nepali religion?--Redtigerxyz (talk) 06:42, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Canvassing for CA article

Hi. I've posted a note at Talk:Nepalese_Constituent_Assembly_election,_2008#Upliftment_of_article_needed_urgently, requesting a collective effort to improve the CA 2064 article. --Soman (talk) 13:45, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] yak-cattle hybrids

Hi, I think there may be a problem at dzo. In 2005, someone added that in Nepal, Yak-Cattle hybrids are called khainag, plus some stuff about what the descendants of such hybrids may be called. I know for sure that khainag is the Mongolian term for this kind of hybrid, and it would seem rather strange if Nepalis had exactly the same word for this, so I suppose this particular edit may have been mistaken. Can someone please look into this? Thanks a lot, Yaan (talk) 18:16, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Durga Nanda Jha

There is an article that says it is about the would-be-assassin who attempted, in 1962, to assassinate King Mahendra. I could find no information confirming the name of the perp. Would someone with access to the information in Nepalese make certain the name is correct? Thanks. --Blechnic (talk) 02:13, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
