Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Ice Hockey/NHL Entry draft format
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Minor point: the transition tables are different from the ones used in the NHL seasons. The ones I've written are done using this:
<div style="border:1px solid black; padding:2px;"> <div style="float:left">Preceded by: [[1918-19 NHL season]]</div> <div style="float:right">Followed by: [[1920-21 NHL season]]</div> <div style="text-align:center">[[List of NHL seasons]]</div> </div>
So that it looks like this:
Despite the unwiki-like HTML code, it does take up the entire width of the article section, and it does look a lot cleaner (no tables, for one).
Do we need a unified way of showing article series? kelvSYC 22:21, 3 Sep 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Draft Trades
A section about draft day trades should also be included, since they often play a pivotal role in the draft, especially if Mike Milbury is involved. I'm going to add that section to some of them.
I added some draft day trades to the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. Are they in a good spot before the picks, or should they be at the bottom of all the picks? Bigdottawa 15:51, 28 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Improved Format
I updated some of the formatting to align better with 2005 NHL Entry Draft which seems to be the best format yet. Let me know what you think. - Dan Granahan 21:26, 24 July 2005 (UTC)
- I think that the formatting of the drafts should look more like the 2005 Draft than what the template actually uses because, if the template from the WikiProject Ice Hockey is used, when a draft picks nationality is shown it takes up two lines for country names that are two words such as United States or Czech Republic. Does this seem like the official template should be changed in regards to this? MBob 03:52, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Notability for linked players
The text in the Draft List section seems outdated. The guidelines seem to be based on criteria different from WP:HOCKEY/PPF#NOTE. The draft articles themselves seem to implement the format in various ways. --Bamsefar75 (talk) 14:17, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
