[edit] Not much
As of right now, July 29th, there is not much on this page, feel free to contribute (something useful please), I just figured I'd create the page, to get the ball rolling. I couldn't really think of anything else to add to the page right now, as I think, I will add more. But please feel free to be apart of this project, and help organize. JpGrB 17:50, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
- I have added two templates,(created them and organized their template pages) and have added them to this project page. I organized a few sections etc etc. We should find more articles that ee need to work on. I am going to add the G-Unit article and the seperate members as I think that they have the potential to become Good Articles. Thanks --The-G-Unit-Boss 11:06, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] G-Unit feuds
I really think we should start the G-Unit feuds article again, the 50 Cent, G-Unit, Lloyd Banks, Young Buck, etc. articles just dont say everything about the beefs.--Yankees10 23:14, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
- I would really advise against it. It will be deleted again, per the previous deletion. Also, the 50 Cent article is at GA status, so maybe we should use that article as an example. The G-Unit article has major problems with the feud section, because that is pretty much the whole article. At least 50% of the article is feuds. That needs to be reduced. Also, that previous AfD deleted several other "feud" pages. Including the page for hip hop rivalries. You can help us some more by removing unecessary feud information from the G-Unit article, wikifying references (The-G-Unit-Boss and I have recently started to wikify references in some of the articles), making sure everything is cited, etc., but this would only be deleted again. --- Realest4Life 01:45, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
I also think that the G-Unit Feuds aricle should be re-created. I have still been working on it in the hope that if I recreate it it will be good enough to be kept. I think that if we really cut down on the 'He said, She said' etc etc and removed ALL unsourced statements that it would have a pretty good chance of being kept. --The-G-Unit-Boss 11:08, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
- You guys don't understand, do you? No matter how good the article will be, sourced, neutral, everything, the main reason it was deleted was because a feud article simply does not belong here. It was deleted. It will most likely be deleted again. Also, you two were the main editors at the g-unit feuds article, so let's see if anyone else (with no G-Unit bias whatsoever) thinks it is a good idea. Not a hip-hop fan, preferrably an administrator, ask him or her, is it allowed? --- Realest4Life 12:16, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
I do understand that, it just that im saying if the article was of an exceptional standard, then it would most likely be kept. I'm thinking of re-creating it anytime soon anyway --The-G-Unit-Boss 12:21, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
- Before you do, ask an administrator if it is a good idea. --- Realest4Life 12:27, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
I will be sure to do that --The-G-Unit-Boss 12:33, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
- The biggest priority in this project should be the articles on G-Unit, Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, and Young Buck. When editing the feuds, we only need to list the most notable ones. Why do we need a rogue gallery of every feud they've ever had? The featured Slayer band has a "Feuds" section, but it's condensed. If you do want to re-create the article, you may seek a deletion review. If it turns out successful, make sure there's no unsourced statements (and that means no fact tags littered throughout the page). Spellcast 13:13, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- If i was to re-create it I would ensure that there were NO unsourced statements etc. --The-G-Unit-Boss 13:39, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

- I think you are having some problems understanding what "encyclopedic" means. It does not mean that it is not formatted correctly, uncited, or something like that, it means that the subject of the article (feuds) is simply not appropriate for an encyclopedia. It could be written so well that it is GA or FA, or it could be a stub, but feuds are not appropriate here. That's why another 5 or so articles were deleted after the G-Unit feuds AfD. They simply do not belong here. --- Realest4Life 14:12, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
I know that. Im saying if I was to create it again. --The-G-Unit-Boss 17:16, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Just to let you know
Hi, Just to let all of you know that this WikiProject covers all artists on the G-Unit Records label as well as artists signed to any subsidaries e.g. Infamous Records, Cashville Records etc etc. It will also cover any of their albums, singles etc. Thanks --The-G-Unit-Boss 13:56, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
- You should read the message I wrote on Shadyaftrmathgunit's talk page. Some users are under the wrong impression here. --- Realest4Life 00:57, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Template:Wikiproject:G-Unit Records/Project
On the template shouldn't there be an article rating system, like the one one the hip hop template and shouldn't there be some feature on the template so we can sort the articles by artist, album, song etc.. Just an idea.--Shadyaftrmathgunit 17:21, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, I have added that feature so that you can use the template the same way as you would use the Hip hop one. Thanks--The-G-Unit-Boss 11:32, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Pages that need to be created
OK, I am totally confused as to why all of these random guys are noted for article creation as some of them I have never heard of before in my life. We shouldn't just create articles for anyone just because they are affiliated with G-Unit or somehow connected to the Unit. Secondly, G-Unit Records is an imprint which does not distribute for any certain label. The label, which G-Unit was founded upon, Interscope Records, is the sole distributor. I just want to make that clear, Interscope distributes for Shady/Aftermath as well, and that is common knowledge. If Shady or G-Unit Records distributed for their own label, there wouldn't be any need to be involved or created as a imprint under Interscope, it would be its own independent label with distribution ability. With that said, we need to work together on decisions made within the project, not just do what we think is right and expect it to be fixed or accepted. We have a really good thing going here but decisions need to be made based on quality, not quantity. --Ayoleftyz 01:12, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
- I agree, who decided that those pages should be created anyway? How come there wasn't any discussion for this? --- Realest4Life 01:14, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
-
- I think that we should all disscuss which of these articles are notable enough to be created. Also if you look at the page history you will be able to find out who listed all of these articles. I think that it is good that all of these artists have been listed because now we can filter through which ones are notable enough to have their own articles. --The-G-Unit-Boss 09:38, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] G-Unit History
Ok, as you can all see, I chose the G-Unit page as my choice for "current collaboration". Over the past few days, I have been working on something, I feel is very good and would like you all to check out. I realize there are no references,, and if you like the way I have put this, please let me know. But it can be found here. Please tell me what you think, and I hope it is up to Wikipedia standards! --JpGrB
- Hi, Ive had a look, Theres some nice work there! I did some small edits such as formatting and grammar (i.e to call 50 Cent as that rather than '50'), Hope you dont mind! --The-G-Unit-Boss 18:33, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Categories
Hi, Ive spent the last day doing the G-Unit Records category family. It was a real mess. Here is the current version (which I have sorted):
Please let me know what you think. Thanks --The-G-Unit-Boss 14:37, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Proposed deletions (WP:PROD)
- 27 August Mick Swagger (PROD by User:Spellcast; "...a mixtape released by G-Unit Records artist Young Hot Rod and DJ Semi in 2007.") —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ceyockey (talk • contribs)
- I agree it should be deleted, mixtapes aren't notable enough for articles. --¤ The-G-Unit-฿oss ¤ 09:18, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
