WPFF Archives

Effective May 2007, all topics with the

Resolved.

template will be archived after three to five days. This keeps the talkpage fresh with current issues. All resolved topics can be viewed in the respective archives to your left. Although they are sorted by month (or in some cases even less), they might not be in perfect chronological order — instead, they are archived in the order they were resolved. The discussion should be archived in the month where the bulk of the discussion took place (if 9/10 of a discussion occurred in June and another 1/10 in July, then it should be in the June archive).

The current month's archive is here.

[edit] June 2008 Roll Call?

I don't know when these officially start (looks like within the first 5 days..) or if it is okay for just anyone to start em, but since May is over I figure I shouldn't add to the one below, so I made a new one... if this is okay someone can delete this and the question mark in the title...)

[edit] {{PageStatus}}

Just to let you know, {{PageStatus}} makes WikiProject lists of articles easier to manage! You may wish to implement it. --Aquillyne-- (talk) 20:24, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Cloud Strife

Cloud Strife is now back to GA! --PresN (talk) 04:49, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

....and...delisted again. --PresN (talk) 15:40, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Music of the Final Fantasy Tactics series

Resolved.

Music of Final Fantasy Tactics Advance has been moved to Music of the Final Fantasy Tactics series, as I've merged in info from the FFT album and the FFTA2 album and started expanding. I'm not sure how to reflect this in the {{Ivalice}} template- currently I have it so that it's linked as music from all the games involved, but there might be a better way, if anyone can think of it. --PresN (talk) 19:30, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

I've put the music articles in a third row. I've also shortened the Ivalice Alliance titles and reordered them by release date (FFXII International was misplaced). Does it look okay? Kariteh (talk) 20:05, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Looks good to me! --PresN (talk) 23:15, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Final Fantasy character categories

Resolved.

With a number of recent mergers, Category:Final Fantasy VII characters and Category:Final Fantasy X characters have become much less populated; 7 and 5 respectively. Would it be better to kill the categories and place the articles in Category:Final Fantasy characters? Any thoughts? (Guyinblack25 talk 01:59, 12 May 2008 (UTC))

Yeah, go ahead, we don't need cats for 5/7 pages, especially when the supercat only has a dozen or so to begin with. --PresN (talk) 16:30, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
The categories are now empty. I'll try to list them for deletion later today. (Guyinblack25 talk 17:36, 12 May 2008 (UTC))
Sorry for the delay, but here is the deletion nomination. Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2008 May 14#Final Fantasy character categories. (Guyinblack25 talk 16:47, 14 May 2008 (UTC))
FYI- The categories have been deleted. See link above. (Guyinblack25 talk 21:19, 22 May 2008 (UTC))

[edit] List of Final Fantasy compilation albums PR

I've gone and listed LoFFca at peer review for comments, so if anyone from here wants to chime in, do so there, or here, or on my/the article's talk page, or whatever. --PresN (talk) 14:53, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

Any other comments? --PresN (talk) 21:31, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Aerith

I have left a question here regarding Aeris. The talk page doesnt seem to get much action so i thought id bring your attention to it here, feel free to just delete this though if you dont care lol. --Realist2 (Come Speak To Me) 17:08, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Music of the Final Fantasy Tactics series GA nom

Music of the Final Fantasy Tactics series is now nom'ed for GA. Please feel free to review, criticize, or change the article. --PresN (talk) 16:20, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Old members?

Hi. This really isn't relevant, and please don't hate me for it, but I was one of the guys who set up this WikiProject. I dunno what compelled me to come back and see but I just wanted to say I'm glad its still going after Seancdaug got the ball rolling back in mid-2005. :) I guess I'm just wondering if anyone remembers me, and if any of the original crew are still around. Sorry if this is a little selfish! — CuaHL 04:06, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

  • As I wrote on your wall, there are people that still remember you. Good to hear from you again. --

[edit] Template:FFtitlebox renaming

Should this template be renamed to something more generic, since in addition to the FF article, it's used for List of Bleach video games and List of F-Zero titles? I think the same tables are also used in List of Castlevania titles and List of Harvest Moon titles, albeit in direct wikicode instead of template transclusion. Kariteh (talk) 16:43, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Nobuo Uematsu

Has anyone got any hints on how to make this article a GA. I tried cleaning it up a little, but it still needs a lot of work. Any constructive comments are most appreciated. The Prince (talk) 16:48, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

A few points- The lead needs to be longer (around 3-4 real-length paragraphs), there's some citation needed tags in music style, the biograpshy should be longer if possible, and the associated acts section is rubbish, it shouldn't even be there. try to use the fifth citation, "A Day in the Life of Final Fantasy's Nobuo Uematsu" to help with the biography, I think I remeber him talking a lot about himself in that one. --PresN (talk) 21:22, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the comments. I've rewritten the biography section with info from "A Day in the Life of Final Fantasy's Nobuo Uematsu". Let me know if there's anything missing there. The Prince (talk) 11:15, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Another thing: The discography list looks awful in this article. Perhaps we can split the discography to a new article called Nobuo Uematsu discography or simply remove it? The Prince (talk) 11:56, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
"Uematsu graduated from Kanagawa University,[3] without a major in music." What did he have a major in, then? Also, for the discography, just put it in a collapsible table- check out any of the Music of FF articles for the syntax. --PresN (talk) 16:01, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Naw, a seperate article is fine. A lot of people have those, no reason not to in this case. ♫ Melodia Chaconne ♫ (talk) 16:08, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
I removed the derivative works section as it's not totally relevant to Nobuo Uematsu; he wrote the original songs, but everything he wrote before going freelance is owned by Square Enix and Uematsu didn't directly work on these projects. Plus the section was heavily incomplete and would be much too long if completed. I also put the games section in two columns, so now the discography isn't that long and I think it should remain in the article. Kariteh (talk) 17:01, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Looks much better now. Thanks. The Prince (talk) 18:39, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

I just found out that loads of content has been copy pasted from this website: [1]. What shall we do about this? The Prince (talk) 20:30, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Which content? You can't copyrite a bare list of facts (i.e. list of games he's written music for). But if it's actual article content, then it needs to be changed to prevent plagiarism, yes. ♫ Melodia Chaconne ♫ (talk) 20:52, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Mainly content in the "music style" and "concerts" sections. The Prince (talk) 21:01, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

I rewrote the copy pasted content, so I think it will be alright. I also expanded the lead. Now I need to add refs. The Prince (talk) 21:48, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Final Fantasy III GA

Final Fantasy III needs to be nominated for GAC by June 10 or the FF FT will become reviewable. Kariteh (talk) 14:27, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Music of Final Fantasy XI

Music of Final Fantasy XI has been nom'd for GA. Please feel free to review/comment/edit. --PresN (talk) 18:17, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
