[edit] Philippines

In lieu of a generalized Philippine Wikiproject, Wikipedia:Tambayan Philippines seems to function as such. Should it be included? Chris 20:22, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Edit warring over location of Taiwan

I believe that, given the fact that that there are several projects related to Taiwan, and already a separate extant section dealing with those projects, the only reasonable way to proceed is to include any other references to the main Wikipedia:WikiProject Taiwan as links to the main listing there, as that is how the project directory is designed to work. That way, interested parties can also see the other related projects and possibly considering joining them as well, if they so desire. Rather than have anyone try to change the status of the various entries for that project yet again, I think it makes sense for any further discussion of it to take place here, rather than have one or another editor barred for violation of WP:3RR. I don't think WikiProject Taiwan should be listed under China at all, because I think that'll be really biased.--Jerry 19:58, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
While I understand your point, I do note that at Wikipedia:WikiProject China#Project organization the Taiwan project is already listed as a subproject there. I could and would understand that you might want to discuss its inclusion there. Also note that the Taiwan project is already listed as a separate heading in the main East Asia heading at Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Directory/Geographical/Asia#East Asia, so really all the additional listing is doing is indicating that those people who might not see it there and instead look at the China section, perhaps thinking it there, will see it. Considering that these multiple listings are a standard for the directory, with some projects like Wikipedia:WikiProject Star Wars being under a large number of headings, this sort of compromise position would probably be the most universally acceptable. The fact that historically Taiwan has at various times been counted as being part of China is also I think relevant. However, the project's main listing is still under a separate, parallel, listing to China, so it's main listing is still such as to indicate it is a separate country. Please see the subsections for the progressively smaller United States projects on that page as evidence of how it is not currently being listed primarily as a "sub"project, but rather as a parallel project, to WikiProject China. Although I'm not totally happy about this, I guess it's a good enough compromise, but there's one thing that I want to point out: Just because WPCHINA listed WPTAIWAN under its scope doesn't necessary mean WPTAIWAN should be.--Jerry 20:09, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
Just to be more neutral, I added Singapore, which is part of the Greater China, to the list as well.--Jerry 17:23, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
