[edit] Project Members
I changed the four tildes to three tildes on the guideline for member list entries - there's no need to specify when each member joined (timestamp), and the ~~~ macro inserts your display name without a timestamp. My own recommendation is for current members to change their entries on the list accordingly, since the timestamps make the list look pretty messy. -Erik Harris 12:45, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
Generally, it makes sense to list project members in alphabetical order. Given the combination of aliases and real names, is there any consensus on whether a real name should be inserted based on the last name or first name? With just full names, or just aliases, it seems a bit more cut-and-dry than with a combination. -Erik Harris 19:25, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Great work on the main article
Congrats on the FA for the main article article to all you guys who've been working hard on it. I'm glad I can join this project and help improve other Cornell articles. - Jon Stockton 18:27, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Suggested Article - Comedy
I see that someone listed the Lunatic as a possible article - maybe we could do a joint article with the Lunatic, the Whistling Shrimp, and the Skits-o-Phrenics, and have it be a "Cornell Comedy" thing (I'm not sure how to title that). I'm in the Shrimp, so I've got some information I could condense into a part of an article. Cornell's got a pretty impressive list of comedy alumni (a couple Emmy winners, the guy who wrote Matchstick Men, Elephant Larry, and some other people of note I can't recall offhand), which might be worth mentioning. - Also, note the Cornell Widow, a dead but much superior Cornell comedy publication. --Xtreambar 02:06, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Photo Run
Can somebody go out and take a bunch of good, medium to high-res pictures of the requested photos on the Todo? —mercuryboardtalk 16:45, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Cornelliana
Could someone go through and a bunch of the "Citation Needed" tags to the Cornelliana article where they are needed? --Xtreambar 16:18, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Aerial photos
I just remembered that I have a bunch of great aerial shots of the campus taken by a friend when we were flying with East Hill Flying Club. I'll get his permission and post them on my user page or another convenient place. They include North, West, Central, and the athletics area. I'll let you know when they're up. - Jon Stockton 21:57, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
- I uploaded the photos and put them in a gallery on my user page. I added one to the Cornell North Campus article. I'll add some more when I can, and in the meantime feel free to add any of them to any appropriate articles. - Jon Stockton 18:32, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Work on Weill Medical School for this week
I recommend making the Weill Medical School the collaboration of this week.--Cornell010 16:22, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] New Cornell pics
Today, the weather is great at Cornell. In honor of this rare moment, I have checked out a library camera to take some new Cornell pics. I would be taking them, rather than updating Wikipedia, right now were it not for the problem that whoever last took photos didn't recharge the batteries! Shame on them! *sigh* So, expect to see fresh photos by tomorrow evening. I will probably post them to Flickr with a GNU licence so that you guys can pick/alter whatever you want. --Xtreambar 16:47, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] To-Do Lists
I've added To-Do lists to the "WikiProject Cornell Univ" template. Now, all pages in the project have to-do lists. Feel free to add to them or contribute to the pages themselves. Great job, guys, again on getting to the Main Page.--Xtreambar 19:10, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Project directory
Hello. The WikiProject Council has recently updated the Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Directory. This new directory includes a variety of categories and subcategories which will, with luck, potentially draw new members to the projects who are interested in those specific subjects. Please review the directory and make any changes to the entries for your project that you see fit. There is also a directory of portals, at User:B2T2/Portal, listing all the existing portals. Feel free to add any of them to the portals or comments section of your entries in the directory. The three columns regarding assessment, peer review, and collaboration are included in the directory for both the use of the projects themselves and for that of others. Having such departments will allow a project to more quickly and easily identify its most important articles and its articles in greatest need of improvement. If you have not already done so, please consider whether your project would benefit from having departments which deal in these matters. It is my hope that all the changes to the directory can be finished by the first of next month. Please feel free to make any changes you see fit to the entries for your project before then. If you should have any questions regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you. B2T2 21:27, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Cornell Map
Libremap.org has public domain maps. One of Cornell can be found here if you enter "Cornell" into the search box. Perhaps someone would like to turn one of the maps into a vector map of Cornell that we could use for building articles and other such things.--Xtreambar 00:55, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Don't Panic
I'm busilly fixing the bugs in the new lay out. Don't worry or touch it, please. Gimme a few minutes before you jump in :) --Xtreambar 01:29, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

- Alright, can someone please tell me how to get the second column to allign with the right half of the page, not the right half of the left column? --Xtreambar 01:38, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

- That's a format bug in the last full "piece"... I'll see if I can find it. If you need a guide, use Wikipedia:WikiProject Georgia Tech... I set it up using Wikipedia:WikiProject RuneScape as a format model and Wikipedia:WikiProject Cornell University as a content model. :) —Disavian (talk/contribs) 03:06, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia Day Awards
Hello, all. It was initially my hope to try to have this done as part of Esperanza's proposal for an appreciation week to end on Wikipedia Day, January 15. However, several people have once again proposed the entirety of Esperanza for deletion, so that might not work. It was the intention of the Appreciation Week proposal to set aside a given time when the various individuals who have made significant, valuable contributions to the encyclopedia would be recognized and honored. I believe that, with some effort, this could still be done. My proposal is to, with luck, try to organize the various WikiProjects and other entities of wikipedia to take part in a larger celebrartion of its contributors to take place in January, probably beginning January 15, 2007. I have created yet another new subpage for myself (a weakness of mine, I'm afraid) at User talk:Badbilltucker/Appreciation Week where I would greatly appreciate any indications from the members of this project as to whether and how they might be willing and/or able to assist in recognizing the contributions of our editors. Thank you for your attention. Badbilltucker 23:02, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Deleted article: The Class Notes
Okay, why has the article on the Class Notes been deleted? The Chordials, Hangovers, and Cayuga's Waiters all still have their articles. If the article needed cleanup or revision, it should have been marked as such, not deleted.
The Notes have been a fixture on the Cornell campus since 1983. Where's the article gone?

[edit] request for comment
I have proposed a merger of the McGraw Tower and Cornell Chimes articles. Any thoughts? Cornell Rockey 18:18, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

- Well, no one said anything, so I did it. Ha ha ha! Cornell Rockey 17:16, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
- A great name for a Dino's trivia team would be "Jennie McGraw's Bloody Rag." --Cjs56 17:27, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
- PS: Nice merge
- THat would be a good name for a trivia team. Cornell Rockey 17:33, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Mcgraw.jpg
I noticed that there was a mention on the page for Image:Cornell Mcgraw USA.jpg, currently on Wikimedia Commons, to use the local Mcgraw.jpg instead. Why is this, exactly? The two images are exactly the same, and if anything, the image on Commons has a superior (more specific) name and would logically be the preferred image. --fuzzy510 03:31, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Suggested one user from WikiProject Cornell University to be an admin
I see that WikiProject Cornell University does not have any admin, so I would like to suggest that there should be an administrator involved in this project. If you are in WikiProject Cornell University and feel ready to be an administrator, then please contact me and I'll nominate you to be an admin. NHRHS2010 Talk 04:08, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Photo request
Could someone add a photograph to Morrill Hall (Cornell University)? Thanks--Appraiser (talk) 20:47, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
- Done. Could use a better one; Ill work on that come spring time. cOrneLlrOckEy (talk) 22:00, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] How does one flag a possible error?
I'm new to this, so excuse such a dumb question. I'm Class of '68 and noticed that the write-up of the takeover of Willard Straight Hall is listed as having occured in April 1969. It has been almost 40 years, so my memory could be an issue here, but I'm pretty sure the takeover occurred while I was on campus in 1968 (and I was gone by Spring of '69). There are three possibilities: 1. I'm just plain wrong, 2. It really was 1968, OR 3. There were two events (one in 68 and one in 69). Someone might want to double check. The incident is mentioned in a new book entitled Liberal Fascism by Jonah Goldberg (pg 163-164)and it references 1969 but my guess is that he got the date here. Scramjetcco (talk) 20:40, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- The book about it is called Cornell '69 Amazon.com, so I think it was 1969. cOrneLlrOckEy (talk) 21:36, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
