[edit] Assessment

Hello. The first thing I've thought of doing for this workgroup would be to look through all the unassessed files and pick out some of the Marvel articles that really ought to have been rated by now. Maybe today, maybe tomorrow, whenever, but soon. :) BOZ 15:34, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

Sounds like a plan - if you tag the header with the workgroup they will appear on the workgroup's list on the front page. I've found the simplest thing is to just throw in a quick assessment though as I go through. That say the next phase would be targeting the stubs and adding enough to move them up to start, cuts out a whole step. I'd imagine those currently lacking assessment are going to largely be starts and stubs of low importance so you can rattle through them (the key thing is to flag if anything needs an infobox as that is an important issue - flagging lack of image is also handy. I've put all this in the sample talk page header template - see the creators for when you tag people). Anything that is unclear people can post here for a quick look. (Emperor 16:11, 30 October 2007 (UTC))

OK, got it. I've just put a lot of work into sifting through the thousands of articles in the list, so if someone else would make sure to tag the headers as Emperor suggests, that would be a big help.

This list isn't a long one, but I was trying to pick out some of the more significant articles which are particularly notable. I'll do it again later with a bit less discrimination after these get looked at.

These should probably all get at least a Start rating if not better:

(ED. Note: moved list to new "Mid-Importance" section below.) BOZ 19:45, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

(note that the beginning and end of the alphabet have been fairly well maintained, while the middle not so much…)

I think that's a pretty good selection to start with. There are plenty more Start-worthy articles in the Unassessed category, but of course there's all the time in the world to get them assessed. BOZ 18:45, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

P.S., if you do assess any of these articles, please do remove it from the list. Thanks! :) BOZ 22:58, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Unassessed

These articles are currently unassessed, and all look to easily be at least Start-class.

[edit] Start-class candidates

These articles are currently rated as stubs, but I feel they could be Starts, if not better, or would be Starts if a few adjustments are made. Either they were originally under-rated, or they have been expanded since they were originally rated.

[edit] Potential B-class articles

These articles are currently rated as Start-class, but I feel they could become B-Class with a few adjustments.

I've only looked at Abomination (comics) but that article is mostly focussed on plot. There needs to be a lot more rebalancing of articles in favour of sourced material on the creative process in these articles, rather than the plot summary. I'm sweeping through the assessment as I can, hitting all the unassessed, and then I plan to hit the B-Class articles and review them all. I'm seeing a lot of articles tagged as B-Class which really don't meet the standards. Hiding Talk 10:08, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] B-Class articles needing review

These articles are currently rated as B-Class but have not yet been reviewed as meeting all the requirements for B-Class. Some may be just fine as B, but some may have to be downgraded to Start.

[edit] Navboxes

Someone here may want to keep an eye on the navboxes. {{Daredevil}} and {{Iron Man}} just went up as all inclusive ones. I've weeded through them, but someone from the workgroup should take a look. - J Greb (talk) 15:18, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

There's also {{Hulk}}, the use of which is generating some minor controversy. --GentlemanGhost (talk) 21:14, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
And {{Thor}}. A thread regarding these has started at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Comics#Nav Box Proliferation. --GentlemanGhost (talk) 02:31, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
Also, there's {{Captain America}}, {{X-Men}}, {{Fantastic Four}}, and {{Spider-Man}}, and probably others, but I don't know if any of those are causing any trouble. BOZ (talk) 02:33, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Would Anyone mind if I made a new user Box?

ok sry I have not been like participating in the workgroup, I just found it today, and I found out I was the first name on the members list 8-P. But yea what ever you need me to do I will help. But first can I make a new user box for the workgroup. No offense to the person who made it, it just seems well Bulky.-- Phoenix741(Talk Page) 16:46, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Images for Marvel articles

I have started a new page to address the issue of Marvel articles without images. BOZ (talk) 15:34, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

I have added a section for images which need Fair-use Rationales. Feel free to add to that section, or to provide FURs for anything you see there. BOZ (talk) 17:33, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Something this workgroup needs to be aware of.

Regarding Hulk (comics)‎, this section of its talk, and this 2 part conversation [1] [2].

The upshot is that the GA article is becoming less stable and the editor that moved heaven and earth to get it where it is just got burned.

[edit] Jump SQ.

Hello this is Jump Guru from the Jump SQ. page. I was wondering if or if not, the Jump SQ. page should be a part of the Marvel Comics WikiProject. The page helps alot to the project, mostly on the subject of Jump SQ. II (Second). The manga series i'm sure you guys know about: Karakuridōji Ultimo, has inspired a mini book inside SQ.II called Stan Lee the Book!. Stan Lee the Book! is all about Marvel Comics series (e.g. The Amazing Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk, etc.), so if anyone has a comment please reply. – 「JUMPGURU」@Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia 23:36, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Well I'd say the more the merrier. My only concern would be that it is rather a small mention in a much larger article and I'd not want to confuse anyone. If you don't feel it'll leave anyone scratching their head then go for it. (Emperor (talk) 23:57, 7 May 2008 (UTC))
It won't, unless you're one of those knuckle heads that doesn't pay attention at all. It will make sense, but it definatly should be a part of the project. The article is the only place where we will be able to mention Stan Lee the Book! and Ultimo, i'll post the WikiProject template. Thanks for your help. – 「JUMPGURU」@Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia 00:54, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Cleanup

There is a list of related articles requiring cleanup generated at Wikipedia:WikiProject Comics/Marvel Comics work group/Cleanup listing. Any help in clearing the backlog would be appreciated. Hiding T 09:06, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
