Should we put conference affiliation in this table, to make life a bit easier? -- Daveahern 05:12, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
- I think Conferences are definitely needed. As an aside, I propose to make the table sortable (like Editing List of Division I-FBS college football stadiums) and eliminate the TOC to make the table easier and faster to navigate. Any objections? Pepto gecko 17:12, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
- Eliminating the TOC definitely wouldn't bother me - I think I've been one of the more frequent editors here, and I'm not sure that I've ever used it. It especially sucks on Firefox, where it lays on top of the table.

- If we put conference affiliations, let's please use short names, to keep the columns lengths at bay. --fuzzy510 21:08, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
- On second thought, the TOC is just a product of making it muuuuuuch easier to edit the table. I'm all for conference affiliations, though, and I'll start adding them. --fuzzy510 21:29, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
- I've taken care of the ACC & SEC plus a few assorted others at the bottom. If we're trying to reduce the table width, why not eliminate the 'Athletics' column. It seems there are usually links to that from the school's main page and it doesn't really fit in with the title of this table. Pepto gecko 00:33, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Coaching History Templates
I've got a handy list going of the schools that haven't been made yet in my userspace. Feel free to use that to go off of if you're making some of the templates. The first list are schools that I couldn't find a list of coaches for; the second list are schools that I found lists for (media guides on websites, et cetera), but there weren't any coaches that currently had a page on Wikipedia. If you do one of those, just create a page for the most recent coach (I've done a couple - something like Brad Brownell works perfectly fine, I'd think). This way, nobody will try to delete the template for having it be unused. --fuzzy510 02:59, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Missing Team?
Unless they are no longer Division I, I think Arkansas-Little Rock is missing from the list. Boneillhawk 16:02, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
- I found it. My mistake. Boneillhawk 16:29, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Expanding beyond Division I
While I'm all for working on non-Division I articles, the fact is that the table here is not the place to add non-Division I schools quite yet. It's already quite cumbersome as it is, and the current standard is for a program to be on the Division I level to be considered notable. Given that the Master Table is to try and provide a starting point for work on articles in the project, to put non-notable articles on the table is pretty counterproductive. --fuzzy510 00:58, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Women's basketball teams
I think that we are taking the naming convention a little bit too far for the men's teams. True, many women's teams use the prefix 'Lady' in their official team names, but are all of them commonly referred to that way? Fbdave (talk) 01:15, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
