Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Classical music/To-do list
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I have removed a number of entries that may be classics but that are not, at least to my way of thinking, "classical." None of the associated articles carries the Project Classical Music banner. Here's the list:
Needing Verification
- Any Place I Hang My Hat Is Home
- I Wanna Be Like You
- If I Were a Bell
- Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
- Let It Snow
- Moon River
- Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
- Take That Look Off Your Face
- The Girl from Ipanema

That last is a Bollywood film. I left another, Pyaasa, on the "verification" list, as it carries the Project Classical Music banner. At first I didn't see why, but now, upon another review, I note that its score was the work of Sachin Dev Burman, whom further reading reveals to have been trained in the Indian classical music tradition. His son composed the score for Angoor. Does that connection qualify these entries as Project Classical Music fare? If so, then Angoor should go back on the list. If not, then Pyaasa should come off, and the banner should come off its article.

- I think this was a case where a Bot was scanning category trees for the maintenance tags and some non-classical articles were being listed due to categorization issues. Indeed, the Bollywood film traces back cat-wise to "Compositions by composer" due to the score of the film. In exchange for the weekly bot-scan, we were willing to deal with a few odd entries on the list. The bot is not running anymore though. DavidRF 19:04, 12 September 2007
[edit] Bot isn't running anymore
I guess the bot is not running anymore. I wonder why. DavidRF 19:02, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
