[edit] Assessment chart/diagram update
How does the assessment info get updated? Is there some tool or thing to run to get it updated? ChessCreator (talk) 00:32, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- I think it's run every few days automatically, although the intervals are somewhat irregular. (Or rather by some batch process that updates the assessments for all the participating wikiprojects.) You can find the log of past runs at Wikipedia:Version_1.0_Editorial_Team/Chess_articles_by_quality_log. BTW, if you can think of any pages or categories that would belong in Category:WikiProject Chess, feel free to add them. Quale (talk) 21:28, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Track of numbers
Seems the number of chess articles is growing fast recently. Something like 200 within the last two month. According to a note in WP:CHESS on Friday 5 October 2007, the WikiProject Chess reached 2,000 articles. Keeping a record here as might be interesting to look back at in the future.

[edit] Top Importance?
The Top importance of these articles seem questionable to me. Looking at conversion to other languages it appears some others agree.
Suggested Top articles that are currently High
ChessCreator (talk) 14:36, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
Most adjustments above made. Aron Nimzowitsch left as high. Much cross checking to similar topics and page views (see below) Stalemate and En passant changed to Top. Pending cross-checking High and Mid. Adjournment, Chess prodigy, Knight's tour, Comparing top chess players throughout history to High. ChessCreator (talk) 19:35, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

- I changed Sicilian Defense to Sician Defence in the articles using AWB, so that should cut out the redirects. Bubba73 (talk), 03:52, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Project tag
I just saw the project tag for the Military History project. For instance, go to Talk:Battle of Bloody Marsh, down to the Military Project box, and click on "show". It gives five criteria for being a B class article, and whether or not they have been met. I'm not asking anyone to do this for our project, since a few people have put in such a large amount of work already. But it is nice! Bubba73 (talk), 15:40, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
- If you go here you can find all articles according to number of references, so you can find those with no references or few references according to the amount of content. I don't think adding extra info in the assessment template would be productive. It would take a quite a bit of time to assess articles for something like grammar and it would soon get out of date. I think any sort of specific cleanup type work is best written about on the talk page. What way others see the issue and it can be commented on or marked accordingly when done. SunCreator (talk) 23:24, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

- I know it would take a lot of time, I just think it would be nice. But I do like the way they rate them on five criteria rather than counting paragraphs, etc. BTW, I used AWB to change several redirects so some of the traffic figures on that page will be more accurate now. Bubba73 (talk), 23:59, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not sure the AWB changes where correct it seems to have changed the displayed words on some articles from America to English or vise versa spelling. I don't think that was the intention of the change and might be worth checking over. SunCreator (talk) 21:31, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
