[edit] Quantified assessment
This is the first quantified assessment done on all topic B-Class or above and a few others done to see how the scoring works out for less quality articles. It's set in a sortable table so use the column sort option to sort as required. SunCreator (talk) 00:50, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
Assessment contains 241 articles. All class B or above, all Top importance and many High importance articles and a few others of random interest. SunCreator (talk) 10:36, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
Updated so sorting of Class on(FA,A,GA,B,Start,Stub,List) and importance order (Top, High, Mid, Low) not alphabetic order. SunCreator (talk) 14:00, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
Adding traffic figures(average views per day). 0 means the figure has not been added yet. SunCreator (talk) 14:59, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Table
- For a description of how figures are derived see: Quantified assessment guide, now at the end of this table..
- Traffic figure is an average daily visits using the tool http://stats.grok.se/(articles that are new within the last month are unlikely to have a figure representative of its future traffic levels.)
- The square on column heading is option to sort table by that column, maybe work slowly on some systems.

[edit] Quantified assessment guide
Marking the quality(class) of the article is a bit hit and miss. So here is a more quantified method recently developed. It is only a guide to class, seems especially useful to help identify the high end articles.
- Allocate positive points for the following
Content: Award up to 7 points for paragraphs
- A paragraphs for this purpose means about two or three sentences of wording. Two or more individual sentences unconnected to a paragraph in an article could be added to assume one paragraph. Conversely if there is a very big paragraph, you count count it as two paragraphs or in some case even three paragraphs. Stuff that isn't focused on the topic is generally dismissed, examples being lists of players name, books written, or moves from a chess game.
- 1 point: 1-2 paragraphs
- 2 point: 3-5 paragraphs
- 3 point: 6-8 paragraphs
- 4 point: 9-11 paragraphs
- 5 point: 12-14 paragraphs
- 6 point: 15-19 paragraphs
- 7 point: 20+ paragraphs
References: Award up to 6 points for references. Inline ref are the best but count them all.
- 1 points 2-4 references
- 2 points 5-10 references
- 3 points 11-19 references
- 4 points 20-39 references
- 5 points 40-79 references
- 6 points 80+ references
Table of contents(TOC)
- 1 point for a table of contents(TOC)
Other: The following is all accumulative. Award up to 7 points.
- 1 point for appropriate image/diagram etc in top right
- 1 point for a table, or nice presented table like information
- 1 point for an additional table.
- 1 point for an image (not the one in top right)
- 1 point for a diagram (not the one in top right)
- 1 point of a decent template like an infobox, (a one line bar template at the bottom of the page is unlikely to sufficient).
- 1 point for an animation (if it's top right then it counts for 2 points in total)
Negative points. The idea here is to reduce points for anything adversely affecting the article. Deduct 1 point for each of the following: no references, poor lead, POV information, known missing content, controversial subject matter, article not chess project focused(applies to 'Wii Chess', 'Alan Kotov', 'Alistair Crowley', could even deduct two for this), templates indicating problem such as {{cleanup}}, problems perhaps revealed on the talk page and anything else that seems poor.
Add up the points and see the results!
