[edit] Category:Chemical engineering topics

I'm going to create this page to compliment the list of chemical engineering topics, because a category would be as suitable (if not more) for this type of list. It still needs some cleanup; many of the articles are listed in both chemical engineering as well as this one, but I think it would be better if we could eventually remove the list completely. Some of the items on that list really have little to do with chemical engineering at all, and I think this is a better method of sorting. ~ thesublime514 • talk • sign 17:42, April 9, 2007 (UTC)
- Please don't!!! As it stands, this category will simply be redundant with Category:Chemical engineering. If you don't like the list page (and it is true that it seems to be of very limited utility to readers), the nominate it for deletion: WikiProject Chemistry would be interested in inheriting the list for project-management purposes if it is to be deleted from the main article space. - I also say "Please don't!!!" We already have the existing Category:Chemical engineering and I completely fail to see why we need Category:Chemical engineering topics which is essentially a duplicate of the existing Category:Chemical engineering. I agree with Physchim62 in that if you don't like the list page, then nominate it for deletion. I would back you on that. But I oppose having this duplicate category most strongly!! - I see your point. I'm going to go ahead an nominate the list for deletion. What should I do about this category? ~ thesublime514 • talk • sign 20:35, April 9, 2007 (UTC)
- What to do about this category? First, de-populate it by deleting this category from all the pages where you added it. If you've forgotten them, you can find them in your "Contributions" list. Then you might try re-directing this category to the Category:Chemical engineering. If that cannot be done, then find some Administrator and ask for help in deleting this category. - Rifleman 82 seems to be clearing the category out, and has nominated it for deletion. When he's finished, I shall move this discussion to Talk:List of chemical engineering topics and delete the category (using WP:SNOW, 'cos I'm that sort of admin!). No harm done, at least we will end up doing what Thesublime514 really wanted to do in the first place :) Physchim62 (talk) 21:37, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
- All done now. Sigh. Forgot to not-watch all those darn pages. My watchlist ballooned by 30 % because of that! Side topic - how to AWB all those sub and sup? There's gotta be a better way than hand-fixing it. --Rifleman 82 21:40, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
