[edit] New page

I created a new subpage, Wikipedia:WikiProject Boston Red Sox/Templates, where we can keep track of any templates, colors, etc. Any help or expansion will be appreciated.   jj137 (talk) 20:56, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] My Opinion

I was wondering if I could add a section (heading) on the WikiProject Boston Red Sox home page, called something like Achievements so that everyone can keep tract of what members have done easily. They should add things like if they created a new article, have made a major edit, made an article to a higher ranking such as high, and ect. This my opinion so I would like an opinion from more than one person about this on my talk page.Thanks!--RyRy5 (talk) 19:21, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

It sounds fine with me, but I probably won't keep track of mine.   jj137 (talk) 20:47, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Spliting main article?

The page Boston Red Sox has a {{split-apart}} tag, suggesting it be split into two; the talk page explains that the history section should be split into History of the Boston Red Sox. Well, guess what? Somebody copied the history section to that page, but it's still in the main article as well. That's not good. And the discussion of whether to split still continues on the talk page. I'm a fan, but straightening this out is not one of my wikipriorities. I hope someone else can handle it. It looks like that was done almost two years ago. I don't really know what should be done; History of the Boston Red Sox seems pretty redundant to me.   jj137 (talk) 20:34, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
Not really--it was a redirect for most of that period--see this Sure, there's redundancy; the question is which to remove. Matchups 21:18, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
Oh, I didn't see that - I just checked the first diff (creation). (It was reinstated here.) Perhaps AfD?   jj137 (talk) 21:30, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] New Graphic

I created a new graphic of the 1908 logo to replace the old one, traced from a photo of Cy Young's jersey in the Hall of Fame and more accurate than the crude one that was in the Red Sox article. As an added bonus, it's in SVG format so it scales well.

I added it to the article, but I notice that you guys are still using the old one in your project box - I don't want to mess around with your project, but thought you might be interested in swapping for the new one, trying to reduce the number of duplicate images. SixFourThree (talk) 16:57, 24 March 2008 (UTC)SixFourThree

Ooh - that one looks much nicer. I'll probably change it in some places.   jj137 (talk) 19:43, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks! The old one is being used in 500 entries (I kid you not), but it looks like they're all from the WikiProject Boston Red Sox box. Fix it there, and we should be good to go. SixFourThree (talk) 19:57, 24 March 2008 (UTC)SixFourThree

[edit] Scouting

The office has been deleted from wikipedia, and the deleter said if we do need it, I/we can ask for undeletion or recreation. Any comments?--Ryan (talk) 00:08, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
