Server-related events, problems, and changes included:

• December 6 - Special:Cite disabled on all sites except Wikipedia, Wikinews, and Wikiquote.
• December 9 - Changed Wikimedia homepage to an editable portal.
• December 12 - Restarted 'mint', which had been down for a few days.
• December 13 - IRC client restarted, allowing new channels on the Browne IRC server.
