[edit] Question 1

There was no opposing army. The Austrian army attacked itself in the Battle of Karansebes. Joseph II, Holy Roman Emperor, of the House of Habsburg-Lorraine, ruler of, among other lands, Belgium was "pushed off his horse into a small creek" as the army fled from itself. --timc | Talk 19:34, 26 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Oh, as to how I found this, I read History of Belgium, which led me to Habsburg, wherein I found Habsburg-Lorraine. I checked the list of members of that house. Joseph II, Holy Roman Emperor was the second on the list. Reading this article, I noticed the section "the lowlight of this campaign was the extraordinary incident known as the Battle of Karansebes, where the Austrian army ran away from an imaginary Turkish army", which seemed like it might yield an embarrassing tidbit. --timc | Talk 19:37, 26 Nov 2004 (UTC)

The battle was indeed the Battle of Karansebes; the opposing army had a strength of 0 men. Eugene van der Pijll 01:28, 16 Dec 2004 (UTC)
