The PC is not a computing platform. Games do not run on it. The terms "PC" and "personal computer" are generic terms for a type of device that runs software. Additionally, IBM PC is not an object, but a loose (and deprecated) specification.
A personal computer does not directly execute a game. Rather it loads and executes its operating system (OS). The OS does the work of loading, executing and managing the game. A user can have a computer and a game, but without the (correct) OS the game is useless.
Common OSes:
If you see an article referring to a game as a PC game (in the context of platform, not generic), please correct it or tag it with {{pc game|June 2008}}.
