From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Congratulations! Now the hard work begins. Complete the tasks in the following order:

  1. Go to WP:USRD and add this project to the list.
  2. Go to Wikipedia:WikiProject U.S. Roads/List of state roads WikiProjects and add this project to the list.
  3. Go to Wikipedia:WikiProject United States/State-level WikiProjects and add this project to the list.
  4. Create the redirects listed under the shortcut section.
  5. Edit the {{U.S. Roads WikiProject}} to get your project linked.
  6. Create a stub. Go to WP:WSS/P and follow directions.
  7. Go to {{Project U.S. Roads}}. Add a section for your state. Do the same for the similar template that is transcluded on your project page. Create the subpage for your state with the notice "Project started."
  8. Create an infobox. Eventually this page will have more instructions; if you need help, check out some other routebox codings at Special:Prefixindex/Template:Infobox road.)
  9. Create a standard for the junction lists. Use WP:IH/ELG standards.
  10. Patch up the page, fixing any mistakes that were originally in the template.
  11. Create an example article.
  12. Tag all the talk pages of the route articles with the WikiProject template, and begin assessment as well per WP:USRD/A. Also note maps for the MTF.
  13. Create a featured article notice. ({{featurednysr}} has coding you may use).
  14. Tag all articles that need cleanup.
  15. By this time the stub should be approved; tag all stub articles.
  16. Create a userbox. Tag your user page with it.
  17. Create a completion list of redirects. If you need help, see the sample at Wikipedia:WikiProject California State Highways/Completion list
  18. Create the WikiProject category.
  19. Be sure to remove the link to this page when done setting up.
  20. Happy editing!
