This subproject has been demoted to a task force of WP:USRD due to a low level of activity, a high number of articles requiring cleanup or attention, a project page less developed than that of WP:USRD, or another reason as given on the talk page of this project.

To help this task force be considered for a re-promotion to subproject status, you can become more active in the project or join the project, improve existing articles or improve the project page. When these issues have been addressed, you may request re-promotion at WT:USRD/SUB.

[edit] Title

The Kansas State Highways WikiProject

[edit] Scope

This WikiProject aims primarily to encourage participation in creating or expanding articles about state highways in Kansas, also known as State Highways. This project also aims to establish standards relating to the display of information in these articles.

[edit] Routes Worthy of Articles

The following highways can have entire articles dedicated to them:

  • Routes that are constructed, traversable, state-maintained, and signed with their own route numbers.
  • Routes that are partly constructed or partly signed.
  • Deleted routes with significant information worthy of an article.
  • Interstates that run entirely in Kansas (mostly spur and loop routes). Ideally, these should also be part of this WikiProject.
  • Kansas specific Interstate articles. For example: Interstate 70 in Kansas

[edit] Participants

See Wikipedia:WikiProject U.S. Roads/Participants to join.

[edit] Structure

Articles should best start with a short description of the state route. This description should say where the route begins and ends, as well as any discontinuities. Unique details about this road may be added, but use sparingly.

[edit] Article Naming Convention

Articles are located at K-x (Kansas highway); if not, they need to be moved there.

[edit] Road Description

A physical description of the road should be given here. Cities and communities the road traverses should be mentioned here, as well as segments of freeway.

[edit] History

The history of this route number should be discussed here.

[edit] External Links

This is where all external links should be placed. For those relating to the route, please include the following websites. Government or official links should go first. Road enthusiasts links should follow.

External links to points of interest should also go here.

[edit] Category Structure

All articles are placed into a category: either Category:State highways in Kansas, Category:U.S. Highways in Kansas, or Category:Interstate Highways in Kansas. The sort key is a three digit number representing the route number.

[edit] Hierarchy definition

No classification of this project has been defined.
