Tamil (pronounced "Thaml") is an ethnicity and language belonging to the Dravidian family found in South Asia. The ethno/linguistic areas of the Tamils comprise of the Southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu and Northeastern Sri Lanka. Within the language itself are several dialects found in both Southern India and Sri Lanka. There are also a number of Tamil emigrant communities scattered around the world, especially in Malaysia, Singapore, South Africa, Australia, Canada, the United States, and Europe. The estimated population of Tamils in the world is around 77 million.more..

All of these articles should be included in the following categories:

  • The project will cover all aspects of Tamil related articles from their homelands in India, Sri Lanka, and expatriate countries like Malaysia, and Singapore .
