Wikipedia:WikiProject Systems Engineering Initiative
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This WikiProject Systems Engineering is an initiative of the WikiProject Systems and aims to improve Wikipedia's coverage of theory and practice of Systems engineering in Science and Society.
As of late April 2007, it seems that the Systems engineering articles and their surroundings were not especially well organized on Wikipedia by comparison with most other specialized scientific disciplines. WikiProject Systems Engineering is an initiative to organize, thematize, personalize and actualize this information on Wikipedia. This Wikiproject notably looks to improve the article about systems engineering, in time, to 'featured article' status.

[edit] Participations
- This initiative started May 7, 2007, with Mdd and Allan McInnes, see [1]
- Systems engineer Truthanado gave some random thoughts, see [2]
- Systems engineer Gnusbiz started to make improvements to the systems engineering article.
[edit] Listing of initiatives
These initiatives on articles, images and other organization are in progress:
- Furter discussion and improvement of the systems engineering article
- Central discussion on improving Systems engineering, see [3]
- Modification of the List of systems engineers
- Initiation of a List of systems engineering topics, see also [4].
- Analyzing further use of see List of Systems Engineering Images
- Starting with some templates around systems engineering
- Improvement of the Wikipedia:WikiProject Systems/List of systems engineering books
- Further improvement of the Wikipedia:WikiProject Systems/List of systems engineering at universities
[edit] Further steps
- Further reflection on the improvement of Systems Engineering

- Initiation of a Category:Systems engineers, 24 May 2007.
- Initiation of an category systems engineering on Wikimedia Commons, see[5], 14 May 2007.
- Collection and uploading of systems engineers images, see category:Systems engineers
- Collecting and uploading of systems engineering images, see category:Systems engineering
- Initiation of a List of major publications on systems engineering, transformed to the List of systems engineering books on 6 July 2007. This came under fire, was transformed back to Wikipedia:WikiProject Systems/List of systems engineering books, and needs some more work.
- Initiation of a List of universities with systems engineering, transformed to the List of systems engineering at universities on 6 July 2007. This came under fire, was transformed back to Wikipedia:WikiProject Systems/List of systems engineering at universities, and needs some more work.
