- Rank can be either a military rank, a civilian one or an alien one.

[edit] Instructions
- Do not delete a parameter. If you don't have anything to enter, leave it blank.
- The bgcolor field is now selected automatically based on the Race field. Enter the race with correct spelling to get the right colour.
- qrace is an optional parameter. Use it to qualify the race of the character without upsetting colour calculation.
[edit] Color Scheme
SGColor - This template contains the color scheme used in all the templates. To change the colour schemes for these races across all articles, simply alter the SGColor template.
The colour table below is only a visual reference:
Tau'ri (#CC0000) | Non-Earth Humans (#CC4800) | Jaffa (#9D4F00) |
Goa'uld (#ABA000) | Tok'ra (#DACD09) | Ori/allied to (#F7AF09) |
Asgard (#C6E2FF) | Ancient (#E9FFC6) | Wraith (#F7F3C8) |
Other [default] (#7F8EB7) |
[edit] Stargate addresses
These templates were developed to make easier the writing of Stargate addresses. There are two templates:
- Milky Way Gate Address: for the Milky Way Stargates
- Pegasus Gate Address: for the Pegasus Stargates.
SGGlyph is an additional template for invoking particular glyphs.
[edit] Extra parameters
- pixelwidth=x (eg x = 16 for glyphs 16 pixels wide)
- openbracket=x (eg nothing to remove first bracket, or maybe [, ", {, etc)
- closebracket=x (like above but for the end bracket)
- 8th parameter and 9th parameter for 8/9-symbol addresses. To add an 8th/9th parameter, use:
-
- The SGGlyph template's parameters are:
- 1: Either Atlantis (Pegasus symbol) or Stargate (Milky Way symbol)
- 2: Glyph number
- 3: Pixel width of glyph - be sure to equate with pixelwidth in larger template
Example:
"They dialed the address and got home." generates:
They dialed the address and got home.

[edit] TV episode
TVep
See its page for bigger instructions. Use this to head Stargate Episode articles as:
"The Broca Divide" is an episode from Season 1 of the science fiction television series Stargate SG-1.
- "The Broca Divide" is an episode from Season 1 of the science fiction television series Stargate SG-1.
This template is fully customisable via its parameters. See its page or see example in an article already using it.
[edit] Navigational templates
These templates should be used at the bottom of the article.
[edit] Topics in Stargate
This template is to be used at the bottom of the articles on Stargate (the movie, or any of the three series). It is now the standard generic template for the project, and is included on most pages. Many people began to include this template in other templates so that it would always fall beneath, say the Stargate Races template. However this caused problems, especially when three templates were needed.
As such, this template now acts as the "mother" template. You can add up to three parameters that will place other templates above it. Even on pages which are not linked to by the template, the inclusion of this template is encouraged.

[edit] Stargate Episode Citation
To make it easier to cite episodes (particularly, make it easier to <ref> them).
- sgcite
Code | Result | Notes |
---|---|---|
Lost City |
"Lost City" | |
The Brotherhood |
"The Brotherhood" | |
 |
(SG-1: Lost City) (SGA: The Brotherhood) |
|
 |
"Lost City" (Stargate SG-1) "The Brotherhood" (Stargate SGA) |
Surround this in <ref> tags to make a reference. |
[edit] Cite episode conversion
Any of the above calls can be converted into proper cite episode calls with the use of xsgcite - see its template page for details. Remember to remove any ref tags around the citation before saving, as xsgcite must always be substed and substitution doesn't work inside ref tags.
[edit] User templates
You can add these templates in your user page.
