Once you've uploaded the file, you'll need to add a couple of templates to the article in question so people can find and listen to your recording.

Templates for the article

Normal template

For a normal recording, add the following template to the "External links" section:
{{Spoken Wikipedia|FileName.ogg|YYYY-MM-DD}}
(Remember to update the date when uploading a newer version.)

Template for multiple-recordings

This audio file was created from a revision dated 2005-04-18, and does not reflect subsequent edits to the page. (Audio help)
If the reading is broken up into multiple parts, add the following template to the "External links" section:
{{Spoken Wikipedia-n|YYYY-MM-DD|FileName (part 1).ogg|FileName (part 2).ogg|...}}
Please remember to replace the n in the template with the number of parts the recording is split into. The template will allow for a maximum of 5 parts.

Template for recordings about another page

Main template

For the top of the article's talk page, add one of the following templates:

Alternative template

To specify which version of the article was recorded, instead add this template. Remember to change oldid to the id number of the revision which you recorded from.
