For those articles that fall within the context of Soil science (as in the study of the pedosphere) we employ the following structure:
- The two main branches of soil science are pedology and edaphology.
- Pedology deals with soil in its natural setting and includes soil morphology and soil classification.
- Edaphology deals with soil as it affects people, plants and animals and includes agricultural soil science and environmental soil science.
- The categorical sub fields of soil science are soil chemistry, soil physics, soil biology, soil scientists and soil science stubs
