From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This page is part of the WikiProject Scouting editing conventions, a series of supplements to the Wikipedia Policies and guidelines and the Manual of Style.
All Wikipedia policies and guidelines have clear precedence over any conventions presented here, if there is any conflict between the two. The consensus of many editors formed the conventions described here, and articles related to Scouting should heed them. However, they are not set in stone and should be treated with common sense and the occasional exception. When editing this page, please ensure that your revision reflects consensus. When in doubt, discuss first on this page's talk page.

[edit] Requirements included in articles for awards and advancement

[edit] Overview

Articles that include information on awards, advancement and recognition usually list the requirements. Often, the requirements are copied verbatim from another site.

[edit] Standards

[edit] Guidelines

  • Requirements should be included as a summary without going into great detail
  • The article should not include details on how the requirements may be met
  • There should be proper references to a site or document that does give the details
  • Information on significance, the number of awards earned, controversies and the like should be included
  • Historical requirements should be in a separate section from the current requirements
