Welcome to the assessment department of WikiProject Rhodesia! This department focuses on assessing the quality of Wikipedia's articles related to Rhodesia. The article ratings are used within the project itself to aid in recognising excellent contributions and identifying topics in need of further work.

The ratings are done in a distributed fashion through parameters in the {{WPZW|Rhodesia=yes}} project banner; this causes the articles to be placed in the appropriate sub-categories of Category:Zimbabwe-related articles by quality and Category:Zimbabwe-related articles by importance.

How can I get my article rated? 
Please list it in the section for assessment requests below.
Why didn't the reviewer leave any comments? 
Unfortunately, due to the volume of articles that need to be assessed, we are unable to leave detailed comments in most cases. If you have particular questions, you might ask the person who assessed the article; they will usually be happy to provide you with their reasoning.
What if I don't agree with a rating? 
You can list it in the section for assessment requests below, and someone will take a look at it. Alternately, you can ask any member of the project to rate the article again.
Who can assess articles? 
Any member of the Rhodesia WikiProject is free to add or change the rating of an article.
Where can I find articles to assess? 
Many articles in Category:Zimbabwe still need to be assessed and any articles in Category:Unassessed Zimbabwe articles and Category:Unknown-importance Zimbabwe articles.

You can assess articles by placing the {{WPZW|Rhodesia=yes}} banner on its talk page (not the article page!) and using the two parameters, class (to assess the quality) and importance (to assess the priority).

General parameters:
  • small – "yes" enables the template to generate a smaller, right-aligned message box.
  • class – a rating of the article's quality; see bellow for more details.
  • importance – a rating of the article's importance; see bellow for more details.
  • portal – if the article is used in the featured article queue of the Zimbabwe Portal, the subpage number of its entry.
  • attention – "yes" if the article requires immediate attention; this should be used sparingly.
  • needs-infobox – Answer "yes" if the article lacks a photo, otherwise remove this line.
  • needs-photo – Answer "yes" if the article lacks an infobox, otherwise remove this line.
  • needs-map – Answer "yes" if the article lacks a map, otherwise remove this line.
  • merge - Needs merging action?... then add "yes".
  • zwc-candidate – "yes" if the article is currently a candidate for the project's Zimbabwe Collaboration.
  • zwc-current – "yes" if the article is currently collaboration for the project's Zimbabwe Collaboration.
  • zwc-past – if the article was previously a Zimbabwe Collaboration, the dash-separated dates of the collaboration period; must be left blank otherwise.
  • peer-review – "yes" if the article is currently listed on the project's peer review department.
  • old-peer-review – "yes" if the article was previously listed on the project's peer review department.
  • orphan – "yes" if the article is not currently supported by a Zimbabwean WikiProject.
  • auto – This parameter is for the use of bots. It calls the {{stubclass}} template.

The first table below gives a brief, one-sentence description of possible quality scale values. Before assigning any article to a class, please take a few moments and read the full description of the Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team's assessment system.

Each article may also be assigned to a particular class, intended as a point-in-time assessment of its overall "quality" - relative to the criteria given in the quality scale which is detailed below. Articles for which a valid class has not yet been provided are listed by default in Category:Unassessed Zimbabwe articles.

The following values may be used for the class parameter (they should be entered exactly as given):

Each article may also be assigned a particular importance; for Zimbabwe related articles, we make a ver simple use of this. Articles for which a valid importance has not yet been provided are listed by default in Category:Unknown-importance Zimbabwe articles.

The following values may be used for the importance parameter (they should be entered exactly as given):

Top Major, broad articles like cities, mayor topics, or important people. Top-importance Zimbabwe articles
High All actual articles on the history of any Zimbabwe-related topic. Also articles about ethnic groups in Zimbabwe. High-importance Zimbabwe articles
Mid Other articles that are likely to be of general interest (for example, an article about the theatrical traditions of Zimbabwe). Mid-importance Zimbabwe articles
Low Articles that are not about Zimbabwe and are not likely to be of general interest (for example, a building that houses an organization); also disambiguation pages, which do not require an assessment. Low-importance Zimbabwe articles

Anyway, exceptions can be considered if necessary.
