The first collaboration of the month will be Accentuation.

[edit] Accentuation

  • In biographies, use accents if the subject him/herself used them in when spelling their name. To check for Puerto Rico related biographies please refer to Category:Puerto Rican people.
  • If the person uses an accent in his name the article name should reflect that accent. Example: Eddie Miro -> Eddie Miró (this move has already been dome). After moving the article to the appropiate name check the redirect page (Eddie Miro in this example) and correct all or most of the pages that link to that page. Also remember to fix all redirect pages to avoid double redirects. This can be done by clicking What links here.
  • Check Puerto Rico related articles and verify that accents are used for Spanish proper names. This can be done by checking Category:Puerto Rico or List of Puerto Rico-related topics.
  • When using Spanish words (or words in any language besides English) these should placed in italics with a translation to English if possible. For more information refer to Wikipedia:Manual of Style (italics).
  • Propose a naming convention for Spanish in Wikipedia:Naming conventions.
