• William Regal won the King of the Ring tournament on the April 21 edition of Raw.
• Senators Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and John McCain, made special appearance on Raw, via the titantron to address the Raw fans.
• During Backlash, Triple H became the new WWE Champion by defeating Randy Orton.
• Matt Hardy defeated MVP and became the new United States Champion.
• The Undertaker had the World Heavyweight Championship taken from him on the May 2 episode of SmackDown!.
