[edit] Requested articles
Requests for New Zealand related articles can be found here. Please add any articles you would like created, or believe are missing to the list there. If you create an article and it meets the criteria, please consider nominating it at Did you know.

- New Zealand tramping tracks
- Iwi
- List of New Zealand birds
- New Zealand literature
- State sector organisations in New Zealand
- Music of New Zealand
[edit] Requested images
List an article here if the article requires an image. If an article needs an image add {{reqphotoin|New Zealand}} to the articles' talk page. Also see Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in New Zealand
- John William Hansen
- 1981 Springbok Tour
- Tauranga
- Whangarei
- Royal Commission on the Electoral System
- Electoral reform in New Zealand (has an image, but it needs a specific fair use rationale)
- John Key also Don Brash, Jim Bolger, Jack Marshall & Jenny Shipley, head & shoulders only image for New Zealand general election 1999, the image on Jenny Shipley page is too large.
- Nor'west arch
Also, there are no images of any of the New Zealand railway locomotive classes listed here (either on the main locomotives page or on the class-specific articles), nor are there images of operating railway lines or relics of closed lines for any of the lines with individual articles on the list of New Zealand railway lines.
[edit] Pages needing work
(what order are these in?)
- Wellington - needs much expansion, especially lead section, would advise it to be modelled after Canberra or Washington, D.C. articles
- British Empire - very little mention of New Zealand in here
- New Zealand Exchange - needs much expansion
- Rakino Island - Needs cleaning up and referencing
- Auckland - Need quick improvement on Lead Section of article, need more info, blunt facts of the area etc.
- ANZAC Day - Needs to have more NZ related information - biased towards AUS.
- Socialist Unity Party (New Zealand) - add few edits in last 2 years and needs references.
- Christchurch - The history section needs some PoV remarks rewritten/removed.
- School uniform#School Uniform in New Zealand - This section was recently tagged with a cleanup tag
- Cinema of New Zealand - Recently tagged with a cleanup tag.
- Cartwright Inquiry - a new page, but in need of wikifying & referencing
- Refugee migration into New Zealand - needs expanding
- New Zealand European - needs urgent expanding.
- New Zealand Music Awards - 'Tui_award_winners_YEAR' page slowly being deleted, information needs moving to 'YEAR in New Zealand' pages and formatting.
- Phil Keoghan - Need Wikiproject NZ banner and more NZ related content.
- New Zealand Department of Child, Youth and Family Services - Now part of MSD, no longer a separate department but a service of a Ministry.
- Sean Fitzpatrick - full of purple prose that has a whiff of copyvio. dramatic 06:40, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
- Trams in New Zealand - History of Trams in New Zealand may need more work (has been split from Trams in Australasia).
- Professor and Reader (academic rank) need work. Some of the stuff doesn't describe the situation in NZ very well IMHO. For example, Professor used to suggest that NZ universities use Reader not Associate Professor. I don't know which universities use Reader instead of Associate Professor but I know UoA doesn't and from a quick Google; Massey, Waikato, Victoria, Otago and Canterbury all use Associate Professor so I fixed the article to say most NZ universities use AP. The reader article doesn't really describe this well and I haven't fixed it. 203.109.240.93 00:49, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
- Clint Brown - a new page with the Taupo incident covered but his extensive career prior to this needs to be added
- Sally Ridge - a new page with some basic info but it needs work to expand it
- Australian Handball - Everyone played it at school, but there isn't much written documentation on it.
- New Zealand local body elections 2004 - tagged for cleanup since Feb 2007: has one election result and a list of council links, 90% of the way through the elected members' term
- New Zealand local body elections, 2007: there's no big rush on this, since nothing exciting will happen until nominations close in August, but I'm trying little bits out here. Kripto 02:37, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
- Michael Redman (New Zealand) - some basic info, but needs expanding a bit
- Current general and Māori electorates linked from New Zealand electorates require details of population centres and history as most are section stubs
- Kiwi - (see. Bald Eagle) Need lengthier documentation and dicovery notes and much more information needed THIS IS IMPORTNAT FOR ALL PROJECT MEMBERS!
- Lance Adams-Schneider - Needs expansion, focussing on his stint as NZ ambassador to the US.

[edit] Other suggested work
- Maintain and improve the featured Portal:New Zealand.
- Add more points to Portal:New Zealand/Did you know
- Add more articles to Portal:New Zealand/Selected article
- Looking at "What links here" for NZ-related articles can often turn up uncategorised NZ articles. Categorising them (even simply as Category:New Zealand for now) will put them somewhere where they can be accessed for improvement.
- View Wikipedia:WikiProject New Zealand/Assessment for articles that require assessment.
- Add Template:Location map New Zealand to all towns and communities in New Zealand. Just start somewhere and work your way through... Oakura, Oamaru, Oaonui, Oban, etc... See Template:Location map for instructions.
- Template:Location map North Island and Template:Location map South Island are also available if you want a higher resolution map.
[edit] Resources
[edit] Project banner
Insert {{WPNZ}} into any new New Zealand article's talk page for it to be recognised and assessed under WikiProject New Zealand. For assessment purposes, it is more helpful for the assessor if an empty assessment project banner is inserted:
- {{WPNZ|class=|importance=}}
These both display the same banner. An article's assessment is generated from the class and importance parameters and helps organise relevant articles for improvement. When assessed, the class and importance parameters are filled in (for example): {{WPNZ|class=FA|importance=high}} and the banner looks like this:
