Wikipedia:WikiProject New Jersey/to do

Tasks:

  • Requests: Demographics of New Jersey, Economy of New Jersey,Hinduism in New Jersey, Transportation in New Jersey, Law and government of New Jersey, Template:Infobox Town NJ
  • NJ Congressional Districts: Update New Jersey Congressional Districts to 2002 redistricting
    • Are you sure that the districts are out of date? If they are, I have a spreadsheet with a complete list of the municipalities in each of the 13 districts that I could wikify as needed. Alansohn 02:03, 11 November 2005 (UTC)
      • I have not researched it, I was going by the information on the talk page. --ChrisRuvolo (t) 04:27, 12 November 2005 (UTC)
  • General NJ Pages: Complete New Jersey State Constitution
    • We need to completely rework the New Jersey page, which seems to be entirely disorganized and misprioritized, and has become a dump for anyone with any musical or acting connection to New Jersey. We should propbably break it up into a series of separate articles with concise paragraphs describing major topics within the subject. Alansohn 19:23, 9 December 2005 (UTC)
      • New Jersey State Constitution is missing sections for articles from Articles VI-XI. History of New Jersey is a FA. AndyZ 14:30, 28 December 2005 (UTC)
  • NJ State House: Photo(s) and expansion for New Jersey State House (see [1])
    • I expanded it, but it needs images. AndyZ 21:39, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
  • Municipalities: Develop template (in the non-wiki meaning) of sections to be filled in for each municipality. I'd still love to reach out to local communities to help fill in a lot of the blanks, perhaps via the public schools.
  • Education and High Schools: Work on the List of high schools in New Jersey, which is not only incomplete, but of the schools listed, only a small fraction have any pages, let alone useful content. I suggest reaching out to the schools involved and having students prepare a history, with pictures, enrollment stats, etc., perhaps with a template as a starting point. Alansohn 02:03, 11 November 2005 (UTC)
    • See [2] for lists of high schools by city, which hopefully should help us to complete the list. AndyZ 22:42, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
      • It's painstaking, but we have to do something like that. We also need to link up the HS pages with the municipality the school is in, so that we have education sections for almost all municipalities. Even if they don't go to school in their own municipality A, there should be an item that says that children attend school system B., etc. We have a VfD going on for Garfield High School (New Jersey), which admittedly is not a great article, but we should make sure that the HS pages are both broad (we have most schools covered) and deep (that each page has meaningful content). • Template:NJReportCard is currently under development (and appears to almost be ready to implement). It should be used (instruction on Template Talk:NJReportCard) in the "External links" (or similar) section articles, especially school and school district articles, to point to the NJ Dept of Edu's report cards. Unlike the older, static links, this will allow for easier managment (and updating) in the future. //MrD9 20:50, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
        • Now it is ready to implement into the External links section of the School articles- I fixed the problem with the testing for the fourth input. I'm listing it under the Templates section. AndyZ 01:02, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
  • Municipality Names and County References: Audit references to township municipalities in County articles. Some townships are referred to with township in its name (e.g. Washington Township) and some are not (e.g. Wayne) but are still referred to with the Township name on the county page (e.g. Passaic County), and the Wayne, New Jersey page is a redirect to Wayne Township, New Jersey, for example. May need locals to clarify usage. Everyone should pick a county they are familiar with and audit the townships.
  • NJ Lists: Complete and create articles for the articles in the list of lists.
