Wikipedia:WikiProject Music/Wikipedia OmniMusica

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wikipedia OmniMusica is a project to assemble the world's most complete music encyclopedia. We should aim for a multi-volume set as an ultimate goal. Intermediate goals could be the creation of installments (e.g. OmniMusica: Heavy Metal).

We need to identify the articles which must be a part of this set, and set minimum standards for referencing, etc. We should identify a percentage of entries which must be up to featured status. We should tag articles in the list to tell which ones would go in which installment of the OmniMusica. We may also want to think about putting lists, timelines and other stuff in an appendix.

[edit] Goals

In line with the half-decent articles proposal, we should establish a method of tagging articles as being "half-decent". The exact criteria should be worked out with consensus, but might include a reasonable degree of comprehensivity, sourcing, clarity and style. We should link to a precise revision of the article in some fashion.

{{omnimusica-comprehensive}} - Template:Omnimusica-comprehensive announces that an article has been considered for OmniMusica but that it is not reasonably comprehensive.
