Each month a Massively Multiplayer Online Games Collaboration of the Month will be picked using this page.

This is a specific MMO or MMO-related topic which initially either has no article, has only a basic stub-like page, is in need of more information, or is on it's final stretch to achieving GA or FA status. The aim of this project is to improve the quality of Wikipedia's MMO articles through widespread cooperative editing. It is our hope that some of these will go on to become featured articles. For a discussion on the correct format of MMO and MMO-related articles, please see our article guidelines.

The project is also used to fill gaps in Wikipedia, to give users a focus, and to give us all something to be proud of. Any registered user can nominate an article and can vote for any number of the nominated articles. The last Saturday of every month, the votes are tallied, and the winning article will be promoted for a month to potential contributors.

Previous collaborations can be found here.

The current Massively Multiplayer Online Games Collaboration of the Month is MMOFPS.
The next winner will be selected on Saturday, April 28, 2007.
Last month's article was MMORPG

[edit] Selection process

[edit] Considerations for nominations

  • To convince others to support your nomination, give reasons as to why the article that you selected should be the MMOGCM.
  • Will the majority of the gaming/MMO community on Wikipedia be able to contribute to it?
  • Would it be more appropriate to put the article under a CVG Peer Review from our parent project?

[edit] About nominations

To nominate an article, go to the nominations section of the page here. In that section type the following above the other nominations in the nominations section:

===[[Insert article name here]]===
Insert really convincing reason as to why this article deserves to be the MMOGCM. ~~~~

;Votes
# ~~~~

;Comments

And add this template to the top of the article's talk page: {{MMOGCMnom}}

[edit] Pruning

Nominations that have not been selected after a period of six months (being up for voting six times) will be moved here. If still needed, the article may be put back up (but not moved from the removal page) as long as this does not happen every cycle. When the article is put back up, it does not retain its previous votes.

[edit] Nominations

An archive of old nominations from past months is available here.

[edit] GunZ: The Duel

Article has multiple issues, and the game is relatively large.

[edit] Rakion

Vastly underatred game with not a lot of people working on it, even though it needs lots of love. This is in the process of rewrite by myself and User:Nol888 but We are the only 2 who have posted. As I stated before, it is a great game which not many people have heard of, but has some great elements in it that deserve some attention. Thanks! Quatreryukami 00:42, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hattrick

The Hattrick article has improved greatly over the past year, but as of late improvement of the article has sort of halted. More coverage is needed to make this article great. To the best of my knowledge this is the largest browser-based MMOG out there; it deserves a strong article. DMurphy 23:18, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

  • Is RuneScape not the largest BBMMO? Greeves (talk contribs) 21:53, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
    • I suppose that is technically correct, but I don't really consider it a true BBMMOG since it's wholly Java-based, and simply doesn't have a stand-alone client. -DMurphy 05:29, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] World of Warcraft

The most popular MMORPG. Currently only GA-status. We can collaborate on this to make it the first-ever Featured Article about a MMORPG. -- R'son-W (speak to me/breathe) 21:59, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
