- Helmsman -- This is not a new article. However, I have expanded the content enough to get rid of the stub category.
Does anyone have ideas for further content? I was wondering about a subhead: "Special challenges" with a few listings featuring several-sentence descriptions of selected steering challenges: rivers, canals, unrep, ice leads, etc.
Meanwhile, it sure would be nice to find a pic of a woman at the helm to add more variety to our content. The pic I really would like is a view over the shoulder of the helmsman showing ship traffic ahead! Fishdecoy (talk)

- Vessel monitoring system and Monitoring control and surveillance, posted yesterday by Howard C. Berkowitz 18:37, 16 July 2007 (UTC). I'm interested in maritime electronics, the immediate focus being for commercial fishing, then branching out to things such as the principally onboard aspects of Automatic Identification Systems and Vessel Traffic Services. I put these under the Fishing Portal, but perhaps they belong here.
