  • Areas/Localities: when the only location with this name is in London (or if the London place is much better known than alternatives), the page should just be called [[Bethnal Green]]. In other cases, see Wikipedia:Naming conventions (settlements) for guidance.
  • Boroughs: as their official full names of [[London Borough of Croydon]] (special cases: the London Borough of the City of Westminster, the City of London, and the two royal boroughs, the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea)
  • Avoid using the word "place" - instead use "area" or "locality", with a link to the relevant London borough.
  • Because of London's global status, it is considered best practice in lead sections to say "Exampleton is a locality within the London Borough of Exampleshire", without "England" or the "United Kingdom".

[edit] Transport

  • Underground lines: as [[Piccadilly line]]
  • Underground stations: as [[Piccadilly Circus tube station]]
  • Railway stations: as [[Fenchurch Street railway station]]
  • Docklands Light Railway stations: as [[East India DLR station]]
  • Tramlink stops: as [[Arena tram stop]]
  • Bus routes: as [[London Buses route 123]]
  • Multi-function stations (i.e. that are more than one of Underground, rail, DLR or Tramlink): as [[Cannon Street station]] unless the separate tube, rail, DLR and tram components merit separate pages eg: [[Charing Cross railway station]] and [[Charing Cross tube station]]
