Wikipedia:WikiProject King George's Fields

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Welcome to the King George's Fields WikiProject. We are a group dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of King George's Fields, 471 UK Playing Fields created as a lasting and unique memorial to King George V.

(For more information on WikiProjects, please see Wikipedia:WikiProject and the Guide to WikiProjects).

Goals
  • To enter in specialist list format all of the 471 UK and the few non UK King George's Fields (KGF or KGVF) together with sufficient map references to ensure direct access to the field on a relevant national map. Additionally it will note in each article that has a KGF that it has one.
  • To maintain all articles to a satisfactory standard, maintaining neutral point of view and verifiability
Scope
  • The geography and history of the KGFs as a memorial and a local recreation resource, their links with the National Playing Fields Association, relevant photographs and other articles.

[edit] Guidelines

  • Every field needs a map reference, even an approximate reference. If you need to make the reference approximate, state this in a <ref>explanation</ref> format.
  • Every field should be entered into the article for the place it is in. If that article is not present, consider creating a stub, or research the place sufficiently to create a full article. use variations where necessary on the standard statement in ==Sports and recreation== (creating the section if necessary):

Clapham has a [[List of King George V Playing Fields (Bedfordshire)|King George's Field]] in memorial to [[George V of the United Kingdom|King George V]]
(this one is taken from Clapham, Bedfordshire)
