Wikipedia:WikiProject Islam:The Muslim Guild/Front page/Ex Muslim
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is a subpage to The Muslim Guild
Muwaffaq wants to add the class "ex-Muslim" to the front page.
- I object to that. I argue that we are not going to have a category for every single belife or lack of belife or ex-something. Only "muslim" or the lack of it, that is "non-Muslim". It is evident that he only whant to add that category to make a statement. Its is done in bad spirit, and i object to it, this is a pro-Islam guild, not the opposite. --Striver 01:19, 30 July 2005 (UTC)
- This is a collaboration. You have made your point. I think it is important to classify ex-muslims as ex-muslims. Please clarify why do you think this is done in bad spirit? You are free to object to it, but please limit your objection to the talk page.
- Simply put because its inflamatory. If you wish to have a list of self proclaimed ex-Muslims, please start a project where its members are not prone to get offended. I for one get offended by that remark, specialy since i can not see the relevance in the subject, that is: To see which are Muslims and which are not.--Striver 03:41, 31 July 2005 (UTC)
- I'm not sure I see the benefit of even separating people into "Muslim" and "non-Muslim." Turnstep 20:26, 28 October 2005 (UTC)

- Muwaffaq is an abusive sockpuppet and has been removed from wikipedia. --a.n.o.n.y.m t 21:47, 28 October 2005 (UTC)
- Independent of Muwaffaq's request, I'm still curious as to the need for a distinction at all, e.g. is it a prerequisite for joining the project? Thanks. Turnstep 20:16, 29 October 2005 (UTC)

- No, not at all! I can only talk for myself, and i feel it is nice to know the belife of my co-editors, at least to know if they have the same faith as me :) --Striver 20:32, 29 October 2005 (UTC)
- Also, when i made this Guilde, i hoped for a place where Muslims could assmeble, and i could talk with other Muslims, not implying that non-muslims are not welcome :) --Striver 20:34, 29 October 2005 (UTC)

- Yes, I see it both ways. Personally, I would like to know the background of the people editing, but by no means is the distinction a prerequisite. --a.n.o.n.y.m t 20:35, 29 October 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks - just didn't want to step on any toes by signing up but not revealing my religion. :) Turnstep 02:35, 30 October 2005 (UTC)
