Wikipedia:WikiProject Ice Hockey/NHL all-star game format
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This page provides conventions in use for pages dealing with the National Hockey League All-Star Game. Related events should also follow in the same manner.
[edit] Nomenclature
The page should be placed at the ordinal number (eg. 50th National Hockey League All-Star Game) and not the year, although redirects should be added for the year and abbreviations (eg. NHL for National Hockey League). Each page should be linked from its corresponding season, and each season should link to its all-star game if it has one.
[edit] Article sections
Each article should have some background info, a short blurb on the events surrounding the game.
The most important part, however, is the boxscore. The boxscore should have all of the following:
- The final score
- The head coaches, associate coaches, and/or honourary captains
- The lineup, with the player number, position, nationality (for North America vs. World), and team affiliation. The lineup should also be divided along the following lines where applicable:
- First and Second All-Stars
- Starting lineup
- Commissioner's selection
- The scoring and penalty summary
- The winning and losing goaltenders
- The period by period breakdown
- The referee(s) and linesmen
- The game attendance
- The game MVP
A succession box should also be at the bottom of the page, and if the game logo can be found, it should be included at the top of the page.
Other notes should also be included, such as injury replacements, where applicable.
