This page lists article in serious need of improvement. It also helps coordinate collaborative efforts through the project. Most of articles in serious need of improvement are quite important, and have serious issues, like being stubs, spammish, POV, or just plain poorly written. At the Help Requested section, users can coordinate efforts to expand certain articles.
If you have finished improving an article in the "dire need" section, feel free to strike it out and leave comments. For the "Help Requested", try to follow a format like outlined by Krm500 here. It helps everybody involved.
Happy editing!

[edit] Articles in dire need of improvement
- Hockey - Seems to do too much too poorly IMO - should it be shorter and more concise? SheffGruff 00:32, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
- 1975-76 USSR Red Army ice hockey tour of North America
- List of NHL players - expand list for each letter into chart as already completed for List of NHL players: A
- I've noticed that you've divided them into blocks of 50. As it's an ever-changing list, perhaps we should divide them into roughly 50-sized blocks such as AAA-ALL, ALM-APP, ARB-AZZ instead. Schmloof (talk) 16:24, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
- I divided them into blocks of 50 for convienence. Short of periodically reassessing the section sizes, I'm not sure there is a good way to keep them roughly even. I am open to suggestions, of course. Resolute 20:42, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
- I've moved discussion to Talk:List_of_NHL_players_by_name. Schmloof (talk) 19:09, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

- List of NHL seasons - Complete playoff results for missing years; Consistent page formatting
- United States Amateur Hockey Association - defunct league, need more info
- John Ziegler - former NHL president
- Air Canada Centre - need more info
- History of ice hockey - Just starting out
- 2006 Canadian World Junior Team - very poorly written - going to start rewriting this article, attempting to do a game by game summary as opposed to the blurb currently up, most of the material on the page now would be better suited to each player's individual page, as opposed to a team summary leafschik1967 (talk · contribs)
- Many national ice hockey teams are substubs and only a few sentences long
- Frank Calder, needs a lot of work, sections, clean up.
- Northern Pacific Hockey League - currently a list of teams only.
- John Paris Jr. - Just started. Needs more info.
[edit] Requested help
[edit] Category:Indianapolis Racers
- Scope
- Category with just the team page itself.
- Proposed changes
- Deletion?
- Requester
- --RiverHockey 15:25, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
- Discussion
- I notice that the team's players are a subcategory of the main category. The higher category should be kept, and populated with things such as.. coaches.. executives.. arena.. etc. Flibirigit 20:21, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Anaheim Ducks Draft Categories
- Proposed changes
- I believe it would be best to merge the categories: Mighty Ducks of Anaheim draft picks and Anaheim Ducks draft picks. After all, they are the same club, just a modified name.

- -RiverHockey 00:35, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
- Discussion
- agreed. I would suggest listing it at Categories for Discussion as a merge request. If passed, we can then have a bot perform the moves for us. Resolute 21:46, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Henrik Lundqvist
- Scope
- Article lack comprehensive information about his career with Frölunda HC and the Swedish national men's ice hockey team. His NHL career is not written well.
- Proposed changes
- I am working on his pre-NHL career, his national team career, an 'early life' section, and a little on the 'off the ice' section. I need help with writing a high quality section about his NHL career. There's plenty of images available, and good refrences, with some work I think this could pass GA and perhaps even FA.

- Discussion
- This is the first time we've tried this after discussing at WT:HOCKEY. Try to follow this format for other scenarios. Maxim 00:59, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
- This just needs references, and it's an easy GA, IMO. Also, this is part of the Sweden Ice Hockey task force, I presume? Maxim 00:59, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
- I haven't said anything about it there but I was going to bring up a few questions regarding translation. I'm mostly worried that the NHL career text is rather "listy" (short paragraphs, text don't flow well). --Krm500 08:39, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

If I can get some work done later I'll add a bunch of stuff to the article. I'd like some feedback on my contribution, since I'm not a native speaker of english so the text might need a copyedit. --Krm500 19:47, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
- I'll be gone for a few days, will attend a wedding far from home so there wont be any edits from me until next week. --Krm500 22:45, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
- Krm, I notice you've been working on a good revision in your sandbox.. when will that be ready to be copied over? I'd like to begin improving on it, as opposed to the current article.. IrisKawling 23:45, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
- I can move it now but I've only written about his first pro year so far (and some other minor changes). --Krm500 08:05, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
- Added. I haven't put any references in the text yet so please make a list here on which parts that might need it. I'll try to do some work on the International play section and add it when I get home from work. --Krm500 08:13, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

Anyone mind if I remove the nickname paragraph in the lead. I've never heard someone calling him 'the beast', as far as I know 'King Henrik' is the most known and used nickname. --Krm500 00:09, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- I haven't heard of "The Beast" either.. I remember removing it many months ago but it was put back. IrisKawling 00:38, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
I'd like to help out on this article, but I'm not sure where to start or what to do.--Serte [ Talk · Contrib ] 15:25, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- Well, I have only added one season of info, but I haven't added any references yet. I'd appreciate it if you told me what needs references. And the text I add probably needs a copyedit. My plan is to write about his career with Frölunda, the national team, and an early life section. I think the NHL career section needs an rewrite, now it looks too much like a list. --Krm500 23:13, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- I did slight syntax cleanup, removed some unnecessary phrases in the NHL career section. I didn't find any bad writing there. Also, there seems to be a technical problem with the article's layout; the first section, his European career, is covering up two "Edit" buttons. I'm not sure how to address this issue, so I came here. Thanks Fdssdf (talk) 04:01, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
- I just copy edited the International career section. None of it was bad, but there were some minor changes to be made. Fdssdf (talk) 20:43, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
Been a while since I worked on this article but I just started again. I expanded the International section, but there is more to come. I will write a Early life section soon and expand the Frölunda section. Problem is finding good sources. I'm hoping to get this article to GA status for starters, my biggest concern is that the NHL section is "listy" right now. Could someone please help me with making that section better? --Krm500 (talk) 03:51, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- Are the MetLife/Steven McDonald Extra Effort Award and the New York Rangers Team Award notable enough to be kept in the article? --Krm500 (talk) 03:53, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
I added an Early life section, though it is not complete yet, years 1998 to 2000 are missing. I will expand the Frölunda section and the International section, but since I'm not a native speaker of english I would like someone to look over my contributions and also help with completing the NHL section. I hope this will be a GA soon! --Krm500 (talk) 04:43, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Peter Forsberg
- Scope
- The article lack(ed)s information about most part of his career and has to be expanded.
- Proposed changes
- The article was very poor, I have been working on it. The 1989-1994 and 2004-present sections were expanded and look better and the style of play part is coming nice. I'd also like to mention he is known (I believe he is, at least) for being a good playoff performer. The problem is, I have a few doubts about the structure of the article. There's a hidden part on the article where I'm writing about his injuries. Forsberg has had so many injuries and surgeries that I thought that should have a section by themselves. The thing is, I don't want the article to be repetitive, so I'm not sure whether to mention this in the playing career part of the article. Also, there's the International play section, which I think should be on a part of his own and not be mentioned in the playing career section, which is for his club career. So, what do you think about the injury thing? I'd be happy to hear opinions and if anyone wants to lend a hand, that'd be fine too. A few more things: 1. Does anyone knows if he married or single, if he has kids, and so on? 2. Should the companies he own be mentioned on the article? Does anyone knows how did Sweden finish in the 1991 European Junior Ice Hockey Championship? 4.Does anyone knows of a reliable site to find Elitserien tables and Viking Award winners? I've found various sites on the Internet with that info, but they don't look like official sites or press. It's better than nothing, but I'd like to have the most reliable possible sources.

- Discussion
- Nice additions you made to the article. I think all his injuries should be mentioned in the playing career section, no need for a separate section imo. I have no idea where to fing Viking Award winner since I never heard of it before, but I can easily take care of SEL stuff and EJC info. The image used in the article is a copyright violation, no doubt about it. --Krm500 01:10, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
- I need help from a Swedish member. Please check a few facts: Did MODO retire Forsberg's number after he left for the NHL for the first time? And did they put it back in circulation when he returned there during the lockout? Any info on his father, his mother and if he is married or has kids? Reliable source for the Golden Puck and Golden Helmet awards as well as final standings of the Elitserien. That's all for now. Thanks.--Serte [ Talk · Contrib ] 15:24, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- Not sure about his mother or father, but Peter Forsberg is not married and he does not have kids.--Mister Hockey 06:14, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
- As I recall, there was a ceremony shown on Swedish TV where MODO temporarily un-retired the number 21 in Kempehallen. Forsberg put on the rafted jersey after it being lowered. This is also hinted on the MODO Hockey history page. Currently, the official term in Sweden seems to be holy numbers and not retired numbers. This can be seen on MODO Hockey's page on Hockeyligan.se ("Heliga nummer"). (Hockeyligan.se is the official page for the SEL run by a company where each current SEL club holds an equal share.) I dont know when or why the club rasied his jersey to the rafters before the end of his career, or if they raised it again after the lockout season. Anyway, MODO number 21 is currently considered "holy" (see Hockeyligan.se again). --Bamsefar75 23:02, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

- There is an official page with some functions to view the team standings for each Elitserien season since 1975-76 on stats.swehockey.se - Historical database - Standings by round. There is also top 50 functions who work for every season. No static reports, only generation tools. --Bamsefar75 00:35, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
- Hey guys. I copy-edited the majority of the article. There were no glaring errors, but I did make some corrections. It's a strong article with a lot of information on his career. Do you think we might need some more information on his life before hockey? Fdssdf (talk) 21:42, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
