Laysan Duck [1] | High | October 28, 2007 | B | A very detailed article, could be a GA soon, but more needs to be added about its survival through Laysan's rabbit outbreak. (edit comment)
Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument [2] | Top | March 21, 2008 | B | A B-class article. Could use a good list of the major species of animals and plants in the monument, especially the ones found nowhere else. Also necessary is a brief overview of the islands in the monument, with a focus on ecology. Nothing too in-depth, leave that for NWHI. This article's focus is the monument, whereas the other article's focus is the islands themselves. Information is also needed on how to access the monument, who can access, etc. SeanMD80talk | contribs 04:02, 21 March 2008 (UTC) (edit comment)
French Frigate Shoals [3] | Top | March 21, 2008 | Start | This could be a very expansive article, so I'm keeping it's current status at "Start" class. Ecology section is good, but the history section could be more comprehensive. Info about each of the individual islands in the reef is needed. The section on the airport could be alot bigger to include its history and current status, and stuff about the LORAN station on Tern Island needs to be added. Needs more than just one sentence about La Perouse Pinnacle. If there were any shipwrecks throughout the years here that are not mentioned already, they need to be added. SeanMD80talk | contribs 04:32, 21 March 2008 (UTC) (edit comment)
Kure Atoll [4] | High | March 21, 2008 | Start | Needs elaboration in the Geological History Section. There were quite a few shipwrecks here throughout the years, detailed information on all of them should be inserted. An Ecology section needs to be made, which should have the "plastic toys killing birds" bits in it, along with any other relevant info. A picture of the garbage that washes up on the beaches would be nice. SeanMD80talk | contribs 04:37, 21 March 2008 (UTC) (edit comment)
Laysan [5] | Top | March 23, 2008 | B | Well, I did all that I listed, so B-Class finally! Not sure what else to add, but I'll be back with more specificity and to improve the cohesiveness of the prose. (edit comment)
Laysan Finch [6] | Mid | March 21, 2008 | B | Needs info on population, and distribution information that is as specific as possible. Needs info on the bird's "song" or call, and if information is available, the bird's conservation status over the years and how it has changed, and which efforts are being made to preserve it still. SeanMD80talk | contribs 17:10, 21 March 2008 (UTC) (edit comment)
Laysan Millerbird [7] | High | May 30, 2007 | Start | The section on extinction is very detailed, but the intro paragraph needs to be expanded into sections on range, behavior, description, etc. SeanMD80talk | contribs (edit comment)
Lisianski Island [8] | Top | Marh 21, 2008 | Start | Needs to be divided into sections. We can go much more in-depth about the islands discovery and the subsequent voyages to it by explorers afterwards. Also, in the history section we can add info about the rabbits that were introduced here from Laysan, and the Japanese bird poachers that came here circa 1904. Also an ecology section needs to be added, with all the relevant bird species that nest here and the like. SeanMD80talk | contribs 17:09, 21 March 2008 (UTC) (edit comment)
Midway Atoll [9] | Top | March 21, 2008 | B | 0.5 | B-class article approaching Good-article status (I would think). Geology and WWII/pre-WWII history is great. I would like to see, however, more history from WWII to the present. What is life like now, to the few who still live and work here? Give more details about the eco-tourism thing initaited recently. Also crucially important is an ecology section, which this article doesn't have, despite Midway being one of the key breeding grounds for many seabirds, including the Laysan Albatross, of which millions flock each year to hatch and raise their young. SeanMD80talk | contribs 04:55, 21 March 2008 (UTC) (edit comment) |
Necker Island [10] | Top | May 28, 2007 | Start | Needs a detailed account of its discovery by Europeans, and all exploratory voyages thereafter, including the Tanager Expedition. An ecology section needs to be created with all relevant species of plants and animals here. Also, much more needs to be said about the stone structures on the island. Needs a section on geography/geology, as well. SeanMD80talk | contribs 17:26, 21 March 2008 (UTC) (edit comment)

|
Nihoa Finch [12] | Mid | June 1, 2007 | Start | This needs to be made to a parallel structure and quality to Laysan Finch, with a description section, a range and behavior section, and a conservation section. SeanMD80talk | contribs 03:02, 23 March 2008 (UTC) (edit comment)
Northwestern Hawaiian Islands [13] | Top | December 10, 2006 | B | Added islands section, so B-class. Not sure what should be added now. (edit comment)
Pearl and Hermes Atoll [14] | Top | June 1, 2007 | Start | First of all, separate into sections: Intro, then history, then ecology. History needs to include discovery, all subsequent explorations and/or shipwrecks, exploitation by pearl fishers, and subsequent conservation attempts. Ecology section should include all relevant species that live here. SeanMD80talk | contribs 02:20, 23 March 2008 (UTC) (edit comment)
Amaranthus brownii [15] | High | March 22, 2007 | B | It's not like there exists a ton of information or documentation about this plant, so anything that can be found is useful. Needs a section on description, and a section on its range. SeanMD80talk | contribs 02:36, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
In progress... —Viriditas | Talk 00:56, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Gardner Pinnacles [16] | Mid | May 16, 2007 | Stub | Needs to be broken up into sections. One section with info on geography/geology, one section for history (though by nature not as prolific as some of the other NWHI), on for ecology. SeanMD80talk | contribs 02:42, 23 March 2008 (UTC) (edit comment)
Maro Reef [17] | Mid | December 13, 2006 | Stub | Of all the NWHI, Maro Reef is the most looked-over and ignored in terms of sources and documentation, so we have to take what we can get. Ostensibly should have a history, geology, and ecology section just like the others, but its a coral reef, not really an island. If need be, geology and ecology sections will be one. SeanMD80talk | contribs 03:05, 23 March 2008 (UTC) (edit comment)

Nihoa Millerbird [20] | High | May 30, 2007 | Stub | Needs to be expanded to the quality and structure of Laysan Finch. As such, needs a description, range and behavior, and conservation sections. SeanMD80talk | contribs 03:10, 23 March 2008 (UTC) (edit comment)
