[edit] Categories

[edit] Current situation

We are covering the categories for all 50 states in the United States. There is one for each state within Category:Ghost towns in the United States.

Pending the assessment feature we have Category:WikiProject Ghost towns articles, which an article's talk page is automatically added to when you add the ghost towns project tag to said page.

[edit] Category work

Basically we need to work on adding new stubs/articles to several of the orphaned/near orphaned categories. A list follows. As they change status, move and/or remove the category. There is some category clean-up and standardization that needs to take place as well, see below.

[edit] Population

[edit] Orphaned

The following U.S. ghost town categories have no population.

[edit] Three or fewer pages

The following U.S. ghost town categories are populated by three or fewer pages (including sub-categories). Number in parenthesis.

[edit] Clean-up

Some of our categories need some work. We also need some standardization, to be discussed on the Article guidelines talk page. Once that is decided the results will be posted here and elsewhere so that they can be applied to the articles. The clean-up involves knocking out duplicate categories, making sure that articles classified as ghost towns are actually about ghost towns, a status to soon be decided as well on the same talk page as above.
