[edit] Project banner
The {{Film}} project banner template should be added (not subst:ed) to the talk page of every article within the scope of the project. While the template does not require any additional parameters, it has a number of optional ones that add various extra features to the banner. The full syntax is as follows:
{{Film |small= |nested= |class= |auto= |A-Class= |importance= |peer-review= |old-peer-review= |past-collaboration |attention= |needs-cast= |needs-image= |needs-infobox= |needs-synopsis= <!-- B-Class checklist --> <!-- 1. It is suitably referenced, and all major points are appropriately cited. --> |B-Class-1= <!-- 2. It reasonably covers the topic, and does not contain major omissions or inaccuracies. --> |B-Class-2= <!-- 3. It has a defined structure, including a lead section and one or more sections of content. --> |B-Class-3= <!-- 4. It is free from major grammatical errors. --> |B-Class-4= <!-- 5. It contains appropriate supporting materials, such as an infobox, images, or diagrams. --> |B-Class-5= <!-- Portals --> |portal1-name= |portal1-link= |portal2-name= |portal2-link= |portal3-name= |portal3-link= |portal4-name= |portal4-link= |portal5-name= |portal5-link= <!-- Task forces (general topics) --> |Awards-task-force= |Festival-task-force= |Filmmaking-task-force= |War-task-force= <!-- Task forces (nations and regions) --> |Argentine-task-force= |Australian-task-force= |Canadian-task-force= |Chinese-task-force= |French-task-force= |Indian-task-force= |Italian-task-force= |Japanese-task-force= |Korean-task-force= |NZ-task-force= |Persian-task-force= |Southeast-task-force= |Spanish-task-force= <!-- Task forces (periods and movements) --> }}
General parameters:
- small – "yes" if the banner should be rendered in its miniature size; this should be used sparingly and only on crowded talk pages for the time being.
- nested – "yes" if the banner is being used in conjunction with {{WikiProjectBannerShell}}.
- class – a rating of the article's quality; see the assessment department for more details.
- auto – "yes" if the article has been automatically assessed;
- importance - a rating of the article's priority for the project. (Under discussion to possibly be phased out in the near-future.)
Reviews and collaborations:
- A-Class – indicates the status of the article's A-Class review, if any; see the A-Class review instructions for more details.
- peer-review – "yes" if the article is currently listed for peer review by the project.
- old-peer-review – "yes" if the article was previously listed for peer review by the project.
- past-collaboration - write the dates in yyyy-mm-dd format if the article was a previous Collaboration of the Week.
Needs and requests:
- attention – "yes" if the article requires immediate attention; see Category:Film articles needing attention for more details on when this should be used.
- needs-cast - "yes" if the article needs a cast section or more information regarding the cast and crew
- needs-image - "yes" if the article needs an image, such as a poster or on-set photo.
- needs-infobox – "yes" if the article needs an infobox added or updated.
- needs-synopsis - "yes" if the article needs a plot synopsis or needs it to be expanded more sufficiently.
B-Class checklist (available only for articles rated as "Stub-Class", "Start-Class", or "B-Class"—see the assessment department for more details):
- B-Class-1 – "yes" if the article meets criterion #1 for B-Class status; "no" if it does not.
- B-Class-2 – "yes" if the article meets criterion #2 for B-Class status; "no" if it does not.
- B-Class-3 – "yes" if the article meets criterion #3 for B-Class status; "no" if it does not.
- B-Class-4 – "yes" if the article meets criterion #4 for B-Class status; "no" if it does not.
- B-Class-5 – "yes" if the article meets criterion #5 for B-Class status; "no" if it does not.
Portals:
- portalX-name – if the article has been selected for use on a portal, the name of that portal. The name should be given without any formatting or namespace prefixes; thus, Portal:Italian Wars is given as "|portal1-name=Italian Wars". Up to five different portals may be specified, via the parameters portal1-name through portal5-name.
- portalX-link – the portal subpage location where the article may be found on the corresponding portal. This should be given as a pure unlinked subpage name; thus, Portal:Italian Wars/Selected event/3 is given as "|portal1-link=Selected event/3".
- Awards-task-force – "yes" if the article is supported by the Film awards task force.
- Festival-task-force – "yes" if the article is supported by the Film festivals task force.
- Filmmaking-task-force – "yes" if the article is supported by the Filmmaking task force.
- War-task-force – "yes" if the article is supported by the War films task force.

- Australian-task-force – "yes" if the article is supported by the Australian cinema task force.
- Canadian-task-force – "yes" if the article is supported by the Canadian cinema task force.
- Chinese-task-force – "yes" if the article is supported by the Chinese cinema task force.
- French-task-force – "yes" if the article is supported by the French cinema task force.
- Indian-task-force – "yes" if the article is supported by the Indian cinema task force.
- Italian-task-force – "yes" if the article is supported by the Italian cinema task force.
- Japanese-task-force – "yes" if the article is supported by the Japanese cinema task force.
- Korean-task-force – "yes" if the article is supported by the Korean cinema task force.
- NZ-task-force – "yes" if the article is supported by the New Zealand cinema task force.
- Persian-task-force – "yes" if the article is supported by the Persian cinema task force.
