Please place {{WP:Fencing}} at the top of an article's talk page. This will help to direct editors to the WikiProject Fencing main page for guidance. As well as users adding it manually, HermesBot adds the template to related articles. However, if you find one added in error, please remove it.

This is how it will look when it has been added:

There are class and importance parameters that may be added. See the Project Assessment page for more information about using this template.

Please make sure to add articles to the appropriate categories. Some fencing-related categories are.

  • Category:WikiProject Fencing
  • Category:Fencing
    Category:Fencing equipment
    Category:Aldo Montano
    Category:Keeth Smart
    Category:American Fencers

Please use the most specific category that is available. For example, the article Jason Rogers should be under Category:American fencers (not Category:Fencers or Category:Fencing).

This template was created for the fencing portal to give credits to editors of articles that appear in the Fencing portal. Each month, there will be 2 articles: "Selected Article of the Month" and "Selected Picture of the Month". To use this, simply copy this piece of code:

    {{fencingportal|SECTION|MONTH|YEAR}}

in the discussion section of the article.

Note: that you have to change the following texts in the braces

  • SECTION - refers to the specific portion/section of the portal that the article appears (Selected Article of the Month and Selected Picture of the Month)
  • MONTH - January, February...
  • YEAR - 2007, 2008...

For example, the template {{Fencingportal|Selected Article of the Month|May|2007}} would look like this:
