WikiProject on Federalist Papers

[edit] Scope

The scope of this project is actually quite simple. The goal is to turn each of the entires on the Federalist Papers into more definitive articles. As of now, only a few (such as Federalist No. 10) have been developed, with #10 becoming a featured article. While some are a little obscure, it is still important to explore each more definitively.

Sorry if that's a little vague, I'm still working on getting this and the other pages together. Bear with me as I continue to work on this. Jlove1982 06:15, 7 December 2005 (UTC)

The following are individuals who are involved in the editing and creation of more definitive pages on each of the Federalist Papers. If you wish to join, leave your name below the previous name on the list.

  1. Better define each of the Federalist Papers and create definitive entries for each of the Federalist Papers
  2. Make sure that the Anti-Federalist and Modern Viewpoints and discussions are also included in each article.

[edit] Structure

When I made all the individual articles I began with a stub including the title, date of publication, a portrait of the author, a short (one-sentence) summary of the content, and a link to the source at Wikisource. Please do not add the whole text of an essay to its article. The section headings I used on Federalist No. 10, which I think are broadly applicable, are:

  • Publication -- details of publication
  • The question -- what issue is Publius addressing, and why
  • Publius's argument -- detailed summary of the argument in the essay
  • Contemporary counterarguments -- what did the Anti-Federalists have to say on the issue
  • Modern analysis -- modern scholarship on the essay,or the question generally
  • Application -- mostly Supreme Court/other judicial use of the essay, or anything else you can think of
