[edit] Defining scope
The history of Europe is a very broad topic, with unclear boundaries. When deciding whether an article falls under our scope, two fundamental questions need to be addressed:
- What is the topic's relation to Europe? Some topics which are not confined to geographical Europe may relate heavily to European history, while other topics which involve geographical Europe may be primarily non-European in nature.
- What defines a historical topic? When does a topic pass from a recent event to a historical event? Do pursuits of other fields which happened in the past qualify as history?
A Category tree for Cat:History of Europe can be found here.
