Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Europe WikiProject is a project committed to improving, expanding and co-ordinating Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to Europe: the continent, its people and their culture. It concentrates primarily on matters of a pan-European nature; including international organisations (outside the European Union). The project also manages the European portal. This page and its subpages as they develop contain suggestions on formatting and layout of articles, which can be discussed at the project's talk page To participate, simply add your name at the participants section.
The objective
The aims of this project are:
- To increase the number of articles related to Europe
- To improve the quality of articles related to Europe
- To create as many featured articles about Europe as possible
We acknowledge and are grateful for the work of the other projects working in this area. This project will also be focusing on those countries which do not actively have an existing WikiProject working with them, specifically Cyprus, Republic of Macedonia, and Slovenia. It shall also maintain the European portal.
The Project does not take responsibility for areas of Europe already covered by a project. For example, where a European country is covered by a national project or a regional project (WP:EEUROPE/WP:MICROSTATE). The project shall also not cover articles involving the European Union, Eurovision or European History. It does however support such project and allows them to share resources such as peer review. Small projects are welcome to become taskforces.
