WikiProject Eastern Orthodoxy is a Project Group of authors and editors dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to the Eastern Orthodox Church. Anyone interested in Eastern Orthodoxy is welcome to join: simply add your name to the members listing below. Read our Important note on how to add all the Project pages to your watchlist.
This Project is distinct from the Eastern Christianity Portal (the Portal is in fact one of this Project's projects). The portal is a reader-end consolidation of Wikipedia materials on Eastern Christianity, similar to an index or table-of-contents. This Project, by contrast, is a communications area for editors and writers who work on refining Orthodoxy-related materials on Wikipedia. It is a 'behind-the-scenes' area used to consolidate work on specific themes or articles, collaborate on texts, improve the available resources, and so on.
The aim of the WikiProject - Eastern Orthodoxy is to look after the provision of materials on Wikipedia relating to Orthodoxy and Eastern Christianity. Its goals are to ensure:
- That articles exist on relevant topics
- That articles are well written and encyclopedic
- That articles are accurate, unbiased, and fully referenced
The following subsections of this Project contain additional areas for editors and authors:
- Collaboration of the Month - For group attention to a single article each month
- Notice Board - Notices relating to work on the Project
- Invitation - Resources for inviting other Wikipedians to become members of the Project
- Assessment - the assessment unit.

Articles that need copyediting
Articles that need work
- John Chrysostom - POV battle regarding alleged "anti-semitism"
- Gregory Palamas - Such a pivotal saint of the Byzantine tradition deserves more than just the present stub.
- Trisagion - This article has just been entirely overhauled, and the text of the previously-separate Agios O Theos article merged into it. Please read through the new text and make improvements.
- Proskomedia - Article exists and is linked from portal; but could do with some further details on the meaning of the service and so forth.
- Kontakion - This article needs a lot of work, especially on the different types of kontakia, liturgical usage, etc.
- Phos Hilaron - Updated recently with section on modern liturgical usage. It needs to be checked for accuracy of Orthodox liturgical discussion.
- Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I of ConstantinopleThis article needs a lot of work
- Most of the articles about athonite monasteries (linked to from the Template:Monasteries of Mount Athos). A few of the articles about the monasteries already contain some info but most are stubs.
Discussions with POV issues
- Talk:Theosis#Eastern_Orthodox_Christian_sources:_scholars_or_holy_men.3F is a call for discussion that may need insider POV.
- John Zizioulas - a WP:SPA who claims to represent traditional Orthodoxy on Wikipedia has been using the article to claim that Zizioulas is heterodox.
