- just done a google on it, and found several alt names, these include: Sage Koochee (12,800 hits on google), Sage Koochee Djence Sheri (26 hits), Afghan Lion Dog (11 hits), and Djence Sheri (63 hits). But according to this page The afghan sheepdog (also called the "sage rama") seems to be a variety of the sage koochee. It looks like theres both a mountain and desert type, one being the koochee and one being the rama. Tekana (O.o) Talk 09:35, 25 September 2005 (UTC)

- Image:Rock3.jpg and Image:Rock11.jpg: User labeled with "This image is copyrighted. The copyright holder allows anyone to use it for any purpose, provided that credit is given to the photographer" (which is one of our standard wikipedia labels: {{CopyrightedFreeUseProvidedThat|...}}). I'm still unclear on whether this is an OK kind of license for photos to have on wikipedia. My impression is that there's a core who believe that only GFDL or public domain should be allowed and/or used, but I don't entirely understand all the issues, nor even whether I've gotten it right about what "should" be allowed. [edit] Infobox Dogbreed Template
See Template:Infobox_Dogbreed for a start. Need to iron out various bits. Then--apply to all the articles that I've just got done editing. IF people think this will make it easier rather than harder. It will certainly make it easier to be able to tweak the tables in the future--e.g. moving all of the standards links to a different position could've been done simply by changing this template rather than changing every *#*@* page.

Now that we have the Infobox finalized, I am going to convert all dog breed articles from table format to the new template format. I am working on this, but it seems un-bottable, becuase it's the tables are simply all over the place. So, I have done all dog articles (articles that are a member of Category:Dog breeds) from A through through letter BZ. I AM DONE (okay, maybe not totally) -
- I can say that all breeds except for Poodle are converted - anything that is left is a mistake, let me know and If anyone finds something and I'll take care of it - I'm picking up with going through the list and checking Bull Terrier - Trysha (talk) 00:44, 14 January 2006 (UTC)
It might be nice to get some other eyes looking at the dog breeds, spotting errors or suggesting to tweaks to the tables.

- Hmm, interesting. New Encyclopedia of the Dog agrees with you, but FCI doesn't list Kangal Dog as an alternate name for the Anatolian [1], and ANKC seems to have separate descriptions for the 2 breeds [2], [3]. The UKC definitely defines them as different breeds [4], [5]. So I think they need to stay as different articles, but the interesting conundrum of at least a couple of authorities using the same name should be dealt with. Elf | Talk 16:45, 20 May 2005 (UTC)
