If you have pictures which you have taken or hold the copyright, you can help Wikipedia by licensing them to be used here. For that, you need to license the picture under GFDL or (preferably) Creative Commons licenses Attribution (by) or Attribution + ShareAlike (by-sa) or any other license that respect these conditions. You can also release the license to public domain.

  • Creative Commons Attribution license: "Licensees may copy, distribute, display and perform the work and make derivative works based upon it only if they give the author or licensor the credits in the manner specified by these."
  • Creative Commons Attribution + ShareAlike license: "Licensees may copy, distribute, display and perform the work and make derivative works based upon it only if they give the author or licensor the credits in the manner specified by these." and "Licensees may distribute derivative works only under a license identical to the license that governs your work."

Choose the license you prefer and upload the images on here on the English Wikipedia or at Wikimedia Commons to make them available to all Wikipedias in the different languages. Uploading on Wikimedia Commons is easier and faster: on the upload file page there, click my own work. Scroll down, insert the information on the template, the picture and the license. Don't forget to mention the license of the image when you upload.

  1. - Upload on Wikimedia Commons to make images available to all Wikipedias in the different languages.
  2. - Add {{WikiProject DC|class=NA}} to the image's talk page.
  3. - Use the following template on the image's page.
